Updates

  • We're one month away from the start of MoMu's new autumn exhibition. Opening 28 September, 'Masquerade, Make-up & Ensor' celebrates the painters of fashion: the craftsmanship and inexhaustible creativity of make-up and hair artists, in a multimedia exhibition in which light, colour, art, fashion and make-up come together. With work by James Ensor, Inge Grognard, Peter Philips, Julien d’Ys, Cyndia Harvey, Thomas de Kluyver, Eugene Souleiman, Lucy Bridge, Genieve Figgis, Cindy Sherman, Issy Wood, Tschabalala Self, Éamonn Freel, Harley Weir, Christian Lacroix, Walter Van Beirendonck, Martin Margiela, Bruce Gilden and many more. 'Masquerade, Make-up & Ensor' is on view from 28 September 2024 through 2 February 2025. Tickets available at www.momu.be In 2024, it will be 75 years since the death of James Ensor. Several Antwerp museums will highlight the artist’s oeuvre with a series of ambitious exhibitions. At MoMu, James Ensor’s ideas about masquerade, (false) coquetry, seduction, deception and the transient are brought up to the present day. One month left to visit 'WILLY VANDERPERRE prints, films, a rave and more...'. As the first fashion photographer to curate a solo exhibition at MoMu, Willy Vanderperre seized the opportunity to disrupt the classic exhibition model, putting together an affiliated programme. Here, he tells us what can be seen and experienced inside the exhibiton.
