We have news that we are proud to share from our alumni community. 🇪🇺 Roberta Metsola has been re-elected as President of the European Parliament. Dr. Metsola, who has served as the President since 2022, is a former JA student and proud Alumna, truly representing the #alumnispirit. “Once an alumn, always an alumn” 💚 At the JA Leadership Summit in 2023, our former President, Moris Vandevyver , and Vice-President, Ragna Jebsen had an inspiring time with Dr. Metsola. She shared how her JA experience set the building blocks of her career, simply put, “One of the best experiences of my life.” Her journey from JA student to becoming the youngest President of the European Parliament, and the first female in this role since 2002, will continue to be a statement for the impact of JA programs. We are very proud of Dr. Metsola’s achievements and inspired by her dedication to leadership and service. Her re-election continues a legacy of commitment to making a difference. 🎉 Celebrating Leadership Excellence at #Gen_E 2024 in Catania, Italy! 🇮🇹🏆 Every year, JA Alumni Europe recognizes a handful of exceptional students with the Alumni Leadership Award, celebrating their achievements in reaching the European finals of both the JA Company Programme (Upper-Secondary Level) and the JA Start-Up Programme (University Level). 🚀 This award highlights the individual achievements of those students who showed outstanding leadership skills and team spirit during the past year. 🌟 During the grand awards ceremony at the beautiful Monastero dei Benedettini, the Alumni Leadership Award 2024 was presented to individuals demonstrating outstanding leadership skills, significantly impacting their team and the JA company. The excitement of #Gen_E was so intense that it even woke up Mount Etna! 🌋 We're thrilled to share that we had a significant presence at #Gen_E 2024 in Catania, Italy 🇮🇹, the largest entrepreneurship festival in Europe organized by JA Europe, held from July 2-4 at the beautiful Monastero dei Benedettini. Day 1 began with dynamic prove presentations, including a heartfelt presentation by our president, Loran Geskens, who shared her inspiring alumni journey and the power of our One Big Network during the FedEx Masterclass. Day 2 continued with captivating stage presentations in San Niccolo Church and a memorable Euroclear 10-year anniversary dinner, celebrating a decade of incredible achievements. Day 3 was the highlight, featuring an expo open to visitors and juries in the heart of monastery, and ending with a grand gala dinner and awards ceremony. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all #Gen_E participants and our new Alumni Leadership Award winners. A sincere thanks to our dedicated alumni judges, Barbora Hudečková, Stephanie Symeonidi, Stefan Ignjatović, and Mateusz Grabowy, for their hard work and commitment. We are proud to highlight our successful recruitment efforts, spreading our #alumnispirit across more than 30 countries. It was truly inspiring to see such a diverse and passionate community come together once again, and we look forward to this happening for many years to come. Exciting news from Tallinn, Estonia!  🇪🇪 The first ever Alumni Leaders Academy Europe took place from April 5-7, marking another milestone in our soon to be 20 years of going strong. With young minds from 16 countries, totaling 42 passionate Alumni Leaders took a weekend out of their calendar to connect, serve, and develop.  On Friday every network presented itself and a milestone. This was followed by a virtual appearance from Salvatore Nigro, CEO of JA Europe, who shared his experience with us on the collaboration between JA and JA Alumni, both during and after programs. We started the Saturday with a focus on our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that our networks are facing, the SWOT reminded us of where we are doing well and where we can and must improve. The discussions were followed by deep diving into the current aspect of where we want to be better, which led to action plans. 💡 Sunday was dedicated to exploring the various roles of Alumni Leaders, who are driven by pure passion. We extend our gratitude to JA Alumni Estonia for hosting us and to Workland Estonia for providing the perfect backdrop for our endeavors.
