🛫 The Horizon Europe program, a research project funded by the European Union, is aiming to make low-emission aviation a reality by 2050. Additive manufacturing will play an important part. One of the key initiatives the project consortium is currently working on is called 📢 exFan, short for “Novel Recuperation System to Maximize Exergy from Anergy for Fuel Cell Powered Geared Electric Aircraft Propulsion System." The exFan project will integrate a 3D printed ♨ heat exchanger into the nacelle of an electric aircraft. The role of this component will be to take advantage of the Meredith effect to recuperate waste heat from the propulsion system.
