The IDF/ISO Analytical 2024, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, concluded last week. It has been 19 years since the week had not been held in the African continent, in Johannesburg, South Africa. What a warm welcome we have received from our host, the IDF National Committee of Zimbabwe!  Thanks to the support of the Government, kindly represented by Deputy Minister of Land, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural, M. David Marapira, the Zimbabwe Association of Dairy Farmers, and the Zimbabwe Dairy Industry Trust, Dairy Processors Association of Zimbabwe. Our thanks to Merck and Aglabs for their support as exhibitors and experts. Thank you to all international and local participants who joined us in Victoria Falls. It was great to see familiar faces, and even better to meet new ones! Also thank you to the participants who joined online, as the meetings of the committees were held in hybrid way. While this meeting mode can be challenging at times, the outcome is very positive with fruitful discussions and progress made on the projects. #IDF, #dairy, #ISO, #standards International Dairy Federation

Engaging and thought-provoking days at the first *IDF Regional Conference* in Kochi last week. We showcased our end-to-end solutions for the dairy industry, together with DeLaval, to highlight how we can support the entire value chain—from farm to fork. In addition, #ParmodKandwal, Processing Director at Tetra Pak India, along with #NeerajKumar, Managing Director at De Laval India addressed the eclectic group of local and global participants, highlighting the global commonalities among farmers and challenges like animal welfare, operational efficiency, and environmental concerns. Two notable trends highlighted include farm consolidation and #SmartFarming technology that is transforming the dairy industry, offering benefits across the supply chain. From helping farmers to Tetra Pak’s role in ensuring that milk remains safe and reaches consumers safely through state-of-the-art processing and packaging solutions, while also prioritizing sustainability, and finally showcasing an example of a #SmartFactory with complete horizontal and vertical integration, the session took a comprehensive look at the #FutureOfDairy. Our heartfelt gratitude to National Dairy Development Board and International Dairy Federation for the opportunity and to all industry partners for engaging with us. #dairy #innovation #FoodSafety #IDFKochiIndia2024

As the first International Dairy Federation regional dairy conference Asia Pacific comes to an end, I’m reflecting on all learnings, sharing and connections made over the last 3-days. The challenges faced by the sector are global, however the solutions are local. There is no one size fits all and it’s through sharing of science, best practices and collaboration that we can leverage the vast potential of the dairy sector. 🙏 National Committee of India and National Dairy Development Board for hosting us.

#Today at the IDF Regional dairy Conference Asia-Pacific 2024 in Kochi, Kerala, India, IDF Board Member, Laurent Damiens, chaired the Innovations in marketing session. He was accompannied by IDF Director General, Laurence Rycken, by IDF President, Piercristiano Brazzale, and by IDF Board Member, Meenesh Shah, Chairman and Managing Director of the National Dairy Development Board which hosted and organised the conference together with IDF. As IDF Director General, Laurence Rycken, said "Innovation is part of IDF's DNA from the very beginning 120 years ago, as the founding of IDF was an act of #innovation itself" Today, IDF promotes innovation in #marketing though its Standing Committee on Marketing, chaired by Christine Leighton from #SouthAfrica and Pamela Nalewajek, from #Canada. Also, the SC on Marketing has an Action Team called International Milk Promotion Group, led by Kendra Campbell from #Australia, to foster generic campaigs on milk promotion and consumption. Also, IMP as an IDF Action Team gives the IMP "Yves Boutonnat" Trophy to the most voted generic campaign among its various members from all over the world. Both awards are delivered at the IDF World Dairy Summit that this year will take place in Paris, #France.

"In our discussions today, it's crucial that we honestly and openly address the gaps and challenges we face in the dairy sector. Whether it's issues related to supply chain inefficiencies, technological adoption, market access, or regulatory hurdles, identifying these problems is the first step towards finding effective solutions. Let's use this forum to highlight these areas and brainstorm on practical ways to overcome them", said International Dairy Federation President, Piercristiano Brazzale, is his address #Today at the Policy Makers' Round Table of the IDF Regional Dairy Conference Asia-Pacific 2024 in Kochi, Kerala, India. This was the rest of his words: "Today's round table is an excellent opportunity for us to share our experiences and insights. By coming together, we can learn from each other's successes and challenges, and collaborate on developing policies that will drive the dairy sector forward. It's about harnessing collective wisdom to create impactful and sustainable solutions. Collaboration is key to overcoming the challenges in the dairy sector. By working together—across government bodies, private sector participants, and international organizations—we can pool resources, share knowledge, and create synergies that drive growth and innovation. I urge all stakeholders here to engage actively and seek partnerships that can lead to meaningful improvements in our dairy sector. We have an invaluable opportunity to learn from the best practices that have been successful in different regions. By showcasing these examples, we can inspire new approaches and adaptations that fit our specific contexts. I encourage everyone to share their experiences and consider how these proven strategies can be implemented or adapted in our own regions to enhance our dairy sectors. Our policy frameworks must evolve to meet the changing needs of the dairy sector. Today, let's critically examine our existing policies and identify areas for improvement. We need to ensure that our frameworks support growth, innovation, and sustainability in the dairy industry. By refining these policies, we can create a more favorable environment for all stakeholders involved. As we look to the future, it's essential to stay ahead of trends and embrace innovations that can transform the dairy sector. From advancements in dairy farming technology to new market dynamics and consumer preferences, understanding these trends will help us better prepare and adapt. Let's discuss how we can leverage these innovations to drive progress and sustainability in our dairy sector." #WeKnowDairy #WeLeadDairy #WeAreDairy #ProudToBeDairy
