With decarbonisation efforts picking up pace across Europe, this is a crucial moment to reflect on and recommit to our environmental goals: 🤝 By 2050, the glass packaging industry is committed to achieving net zero production of container glass in Europe. 🤝 Companies across the industry are investing in breakthrough furnace technology that can make use of clean energies, and therefore dramatically reduce carbon emissions. 🤝 New furnace technologies include electrified melting at scale, green hydrogen trials, and building hybrid furnaces that combine renewable energy sources. The glass packaging industry is fully committed to decarbonisation to support our brand partners, and #glass is the ideal packaging to reduce emissions and support a circular economy, thanks to its unlimited recyclability as a permanent material.
