♻ The numbers are in! Europe’s 2022 glass collection for recycling figure is 80.2%! This marks a positive trend and steady collection, especially as more glass - 12.4 million tonnes - was collected than ever before. 📉 The container glass industry is exploring different pathways to decarbonise the glassmaking process. From furnace electrification to higher levels of cullet in production, many activities are underway.   ♻ For Encirc’s Northern Ireland plant, the way forward is clear. Switching from fossil fuels to biomethane will provide a sustainable, locally produced energy source, whilst also ensuring security of supply.   Read more: https://lnkd.in/eP-7DeYJ
