In the ninth edition of the European University Association’s long-running series, #EUATrends 2024 provides an overview of how European higher education institutions experienced changes over the past five years due to higher education reforms, and in the wider context of societal, political, economic and technological changes, marked among others by the implications of Covid-19 pandemic and Russia’s war against Ukraine. The report also sheds light on how higher education institutions see their future direction. 📚🇪🇺📈 Based on survey responses from 480 higher education institutions in 46 European higher education systems, Trends 2024 analyses the institutions’ perspectives and strategies with regard to their multiple missions. As a new College of European Commissioners is formed, the European Parliament plays a crucial role in questioning the Commissioners-designate on their programme and ambitions. The fair recognition of refugees’ qualifications, even in situations where these qualifications cannot be evidenced through documentation, is a key task of recognition authorities, including higher education institutions.
