It was an honour, a privilege as well as a pleasure to work with Brett Hyland on this important CEFACT standard. The team of experts working on this was extremely diverse as well as deeply knowledgeable. This unique combination has (I feel) produced an #exceptionally #strong #standard that will prove to be #very #useful #across #many (or should I say any) #area/s in #Supply #Chain where there is a need for certification of things. CEFACT is also working on (and hopefully releasing soon) a #Paper on #Identifiers that are #Discoverable, #Resolvable and #Verifiable. These two CEFACT efforts are deeply linked to each other. Any object or subject (be it tangible/physical or intangible) will need to be identified in order for it to be able to referenced in any kind of Certificate. With increasing Regulation related to Objects (but also Subjects) requiring ever-more certification, the Conformity BRS describes practical and implementable ways to meet the requirements of those regulations.

If marine governance had a job description it might look something like this: ☑ Managing ocean resources sustainably ☑ Reconciling competing interests and priorities across sectors and governance levels ☑ Complying with regulatory frameworks and ambitious policy objectives ☑ (for EU applicants) Aligning governance arrangements with European Green Deal targets and priorities To call it challenging would be an understatement 😨 But.. fear not. Institutional barriers are critical obstacles to policy implementation and innovation. They are symptoms of governance design issues that reflect deeply rooted, prevailing governance practices and institutions. If left unchecked, institutional barriers will continue throwing spanners in the works of marine governance; something we at PERMAGOV want to fix 🛠🌊 One of the items in our toolbox is the diagnostic tool 🩺 We used it to identify the main institutional barriers across 9 case studies covering Marine Transport, Life, Energy, and Litter. The leaders of the national associations of the #European #aluminium #industry had a very productive meeting during difficult times for the European metals industry in #Norway after the European Parliament elections. Europe is a leader in the #sustainable production of #metals and #rawmaterials. We were able to see this for ourselves at #NorskHydro, the most modern aluminium production facility with a low carbon #footprint. Therefore, the European raw materials industry must be protected by all means and by political will for the sake of global #climate protection and Europe's #autonomy. Many thanks to #NorskIndustri for organising this year's gathering.
