European Marine Science Educators Association (EMSEA)! EMSEA is a network of marine science educators acting as one voice across Europe and beyond. Our mission is to act as a hub for the European marine education community to promote and deliver Ocean Literacy across society by working with scientists, teachers, policy makers and the public. Our Vision? Our shared vision is a society of Ocean Literate citizens who recognise the vital importance of the Ocean, working together to ensure it is sustained for future generations. What do we do? EMSEA is a membership organisation. We support our members by sharing good practice and training opportunities through our annual international conferences. We work on grant-funded projects, ensuring our members can benefit from this work. We organise events within our EMSEA regional groups and provide ways for the network to connect through digital platforms.

🌊 Second successful OSES intervention with children in Cherbourg! 🌊 On July 9, our #OSES partners - Think tank Sport et Citoyenneté and Surfrider España participated in the "Ocean in Our Hands" event. 🔍 Organized by the La Vague Normande, this day was dedicated to raising awareness among children about protecting our oceans and seas. They had the opportunity to experiment with tools both on land and at sea. 🌊 On June 5th, we joined our #OSES project partners, including Surfrider España , Think tank Sport et Citoyenneté and Citizenship, and DAN Europe, in Malta 🇲🇹 for an exciting pilot intervention. The event, titled "KNOWING CLIMATE TO SAVE THE OCEAN," focused on engaging youths in environmental awareness through sport. The day included snorkeling activities and water quality tests, providing a hands-on approach to learning about the ocean's health. This event was a fantastic opportunity to test the methodology and tools developed as part of the OSES project. 🎉 We’re thrilled to see the positive impact and look forward to more initiatives like this! And don't forget, our OSES Good Practices Handbook is now available! The guide compiles 25 initiatives from 17 countries, aiming to promote ocean protection education and raise environmental awareness through sports—a key goal of the OSES project. The handbook offers practical examples to inspire sports organizations, schools, environmental NGOs, museums, and aquariums to develop activities and approaches that protect the environment.
