  • As a long-time supporter of FEBA, we want to thank General Mills for sponsoring the Annual Convention for the 4th year. As part of the collaboration, Jonathan Bennett led a fantastic workshop alongside his colleague Charlotte Atkins and Tom Beardmore highlighting the partnership with FareShare UK, specifically around donated goods and how they have built and developed the relationship in a mutually beneficial way. Thank you for this valuable and important collaboration. Event organised in partnership with Czech Federation of Food Banks

During these three days, we also heard speeches from Michal Vaňáček and Ian Hutchins, who shared how Tesco activities impacted foodbanking across Europe. Thank you for being so supportive of the FEBA main event. TESCO has been a strong supporter and partner of many Food Banks in the FEBA network and we appreciate their continued efforts and commitment. • As we stay connected with our FEBA members on a regular basis, it's time to rewind and share a recap post from our visits in July. 🇷🇴 We shared experiences of the Data Collection pilot test run with Food Bank of Greece with Federația Băncilor pentru Alimente din România – FBAR (Romania), who will start collecting information from their 9 local Food Banks through Impacta. 🇲🇹 While visiting the Malta Food Bank Foundation (Malta) FEBA discussed the current status of the foodbanking activities in Malta and established a development plan for the future. #WeAreFEBA

  • Today we held our monthly knowledge-sharing webinar series: FEBA Morning Insights (MOIN). On the agenda of MOIN's June edition was a deep-dive presentation on the corporate engagement programmes Magyar Élelmiszerbank Egyesület (FEBA Member in Hungary) is offering to its corporate partners/donors. The expert was András Nagygyörgy - Director of External Relationships, Hungarian Food Bank Association. During the webinar, our speaker explained how the association keeps all stakeholders engaged. One of the popular activities are charity cookouts, which are held regularly on the Food Bank premises. András also shared the concept of the “Charity pie”, where people can buy 1 pie which is then an equivalent to 10 food packages for people in need. 📌 How do you maintain food safety and hygiene rules when cooking or processing food with volunteers? 📌 What strategies for individual fundraising do you use for those volunteers? 📌 What do you do with regions where there is less interest? Among many questions these were part of the discussion and Q&A after the presentation. The conclusion from this webinar is straight forward - Programs/services provide flexibility in creating and maintaining contacts with donors which leads to direct income and can generate more fundraising activities. Thank you to the speakers for the very useful presentation and to all the participants who joined us! #WeAreFEBA
