🖊 eu.bac, with 17 other industry organisations, have co-signed a letter prompting national and EU stakeholders to prioritise systemic skills and labour shortages in the next mandate. 📜 This letter highlights how the trends of #reindustrialisation #digitalisation, #energytransition and supply chain resilience are reshaping the market and creating new jobs. It is imperative that we recruit a workforce with the necessary skills to adjust and move with these megatrends. 📣 We call on all EU and national policymakers to ensure that Europe delivers on the megatrends mentioned above. This will be achieved through measures like the thorough implementation of the skills provision under the Energy Efficiency Directive and the acquiring of sufficient funding to support the rollout of awareness campaigns. 💡 To build on the achievements of the past 5 years, it is crucial that policymakers re-invigorate the labour market with secure, fulfilling job opportunities for European citizens and residents. 📃 Our second session of the IEQ event commenced with a report on France's and the Netherlands' respective approaches to implementing the EPBD’s #IEQ provisions. 💡eu.bac member Tyler Smith travelled from the USA to speak on the importance of demonstrating IEQ’s value to the building owners and users in order to see it as a benefit, not a burden. Tyler has spent 19 years with Johnson Controls in roles focused on leveraging building management systems and HVAC to drive improvements in energy efficiency, health and productivity. ✅ eu.bac leaves today feeling confident that all stakeholders in the building sector have to cooperate on IEQ. This collective spirit will prove to be crucial during the transposition of the recast EPBD. Thank you to the panellists of the second session Tyler Smith, atze boerstra, Valerie Leprince, Pierre Cruveillé, Thomas Schielke, Adam Taylor & our co-organisers REHVA, EVIA, LightingEurope & GCP EUROPE

eu.bac travelled to Nordborg, Denmark this week to visit the HQ of its member, Danfoss. Danfoss gave us a detailed insight into their history, ongoing projects and future ambitions for decarbonisation. During our visit, eu.bac got to experience the Danfoss smart and efficient solution applications in a smart shop, data centre, residential buildings, hotel and their expansion valve production facility. It was particularly inspiring to see sector coupling and grid solutions on such a scale. The neighbouring city of Sønderborg aims to become carbon neutral by 2029 with the support of the Danfoss foundation. Labelled ProjectZero, their goal is based on sustainable growth and creating green jobs in the process. Lighthouse initiatives such as this will be essential to inspire Europe as we march toward our decarbonisation goals and the implementation of the revised EPBD. Thank you for having us Danfoss, Gaia Balzarini, Torben Funder-Kristensen Jan Eric Thorsen Paola Carreón Gonzalez Brian Seeberg
