  • 🏫Did you know that over a third of the EU’s GHG emissions derive from #Buildings?   #Energy-efficiency solutions are crucial to decarbonise the building sector and reach the EU climate goals by 2050. Let´s revamp our approach to #BuildingDecarbonisation in a more integrated way, tackling all aspects of construction and renovations, from design to demolition and energy efficiency technologies. 👇 Check out our Manifesto to discover how energy-efficient solutions can support buildings’ decarbonisation. 👇 #Buildings #Energyefficiency #Efficientbuildings #BuildingDecarbonization #Energy

  • 🌐 #Digitalisaton is one of the EU's top challenges for the coming years. The political guidelines for the next European Commission issued by President Ursula von der Leyen frame access to data as the major driver for competitiveness and innovations related to energy savings, among others, calling for a European Data Union Strategy to support companies by improving open access to data. 👉 We share the urge for the building sector to leverage innovation and data, as digital tools can help boost energy performance, life-cycle carbon emissions and the general functioning of the buildings. Take a look at the Manifesto below to discover our commitments. 👇 #buildings #energyefficiency #efficientbuildings #energy

  • 👷♀️  Did you know that for every 1 million € invested in #EnergyRenovation of buildings approximately 18 new jobs could be created in the European Union? This is one of the reasons why upskilling, reskilling and ensuring an adequate number of skilled workers is a priority for our industry in view of accelerating the #renovation of buildings in the EU. 📈 Read part three of the Manifesto below 👇 to discover how qualified workforce can boost economic and job activities. #buildings #energyefficiency #efficientbuildings #energy

  • We would like to congratulate Ursula von der Leyen for her re-election as President of the European Commission. 🎉 In the political guidelines for next European Commission, President Von Der Leyen calls for a revision of the State aid rules to boost housing support measures also through a Social Climate Fund, with a focus on renovations and affordable, #energyefficient and social housing. 🏢 As part of a new Clean Industrial Deal, the President claims for measures to bring down energy bills, whose high cost is the major driver of energy poverty among people. Among such measures, a new housing Commissioner will be appointed to address a strategy for housing construction.  In combination, to make affordable housing a reality, she highlights the importance of unlocking public and private financings needed for the green transition. We share President Von Der Leyen´s commitment for energy-efficiency in the buildings sector and we look forward to making important contributions together with the new Commission in the years ahead. 💪

🏢 Buildings represents one of the most crucial sectors that needs to be renovated if we want to meet EU 2030 climate targets. To make it a reality, it is important that the EU priorities a mix of grants, loans and obligations in order to boost renovation of the worst-performing buildings and speed up renovations. Since in less than one year EU members will need to complete their plans on how to spend the EU Social and Climate Fund, we need to focus on an effective use of the funds to renovate buildings and support their energy efficiency. Have a look at Euractiv´s article in the comments below 👇 #EnergyRenovation #RenovationWave

  • As our team is ready to meet new and re-elected MEPs in Strasbourg this week, we present another of our main asks for the next mandate. With roughly 75% of buildings in the EU being energy inefficient, a large part of the #energy used goes to waste. Why would we want to keep wasting energy? We need investments to transform existing #buildings into energy efficient ones, which will improve living conditions and durably reduce energy poverty, while also lowering energy bills. Read below for details 👇 #buildings #energyefficiency #efficientbuildings #energy

  • We are proud to be one of the partners of EPBD.wise focusing on what’s needed to successfully implement the Energy Performance Buildings Directive! You can now read the four reports just published by BPIE on identified policy needs resulting from six policy forums in Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Ukraine! 👇 #EPBDwise #AccelerateRenovation #LIFEProgramme

🚀Report launch! FOUR #EPBDwise reports identifying policy needs for successful #EPBD implementation! https://lnkd.in/edpqiJYd After months of *desk research*, *interviews*, *topic-specific stakeholder workshops*, and *6 intensive roundtable discussions* with policymakers in Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Ukraine (whew!), we have identified the key policy needs for 5 crucial elements of the 2024 EPBD. This exercise is a foundational first step to formulate effective policy guidelines. Each report provides a broad overall assessment of policy needs per topic and identifies the nitty-gritty details and key watch-out points that will need to be given special consideration for each country. Here's a snapshot: ✅ National Building Renovation Plans (NBRP): 💡Not just a checkbox admin document! NBRPs have the potential to become dynamic strategic instruments to drive large-scale building renovations, sustainable urban development and equitable social progress, adding significant value. 🔍What you’ll find: 7 key criteria for NBRPs and 11 good practice examples. ✅Zero-Emission Buildings (ZEBs): 💡While ZEB represents a significant shift from the previous nZEB standard, member states don't have to start from scratch! Many robust nZEB definitions, methodologies, best practices, and new research provide a strong basis for effective ZEB implementation. 🔍What you’ll find: 12 key criteria for an effective ZEB definition & 7 good practice examples. ✅Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS): 💡To fill their purpose, MEPS will require robust design of other elements of the EPBD including NBRPs, EPCs and RPs, and of course, more and better building stock data. 🔍What you’ll find: 5 policy needs & 6 good practices from Flanders & Brussels (Belgium), France, Scotland, England and Wales, and the Netherlands. ✅ Renovation Passports (RPs): 💡Renovation Passports are intended to make renovation easier for homeowners. There are two potential approaches: integrating the RP into the EPC (national competence) or developing it as a standalone document within existing energy advisory schemes (regional competence). There are benefits and to both as well as implications based on governance level, but a harmonised approach w/ EPC offers >important cost-efficiency benefits. 🔍What you'll find: 9 policy needs and 7 good practices ✅EPCs are core to a well-functioning renovation ecosystem, and outcomes of this first work shows a range of areas for policymakers to focus their efforts to strengthen national EPC schemes. 🔍What you'll find: 6 policy needs and 7 good practices 📖 Access the full reports here: https://lnkd.in/edpqiJYd #EPBD #LIFEProgramme #LIFEAmplifer #EPCs #MinimumEnergyPerformanceStandards #ZEB #NBRP
