📣 Register now for the event ‘‘Enhancing research in Europe to build a low-carbon industry’’, taking place on 18 September in Brussels, and organised by the French research programme for industry decarbonisation (PEPR SPLEEN). 🗝️ The key purpose of the meeting is to present the research programme and to 🔗 align it with the challenges identified by the EU and its associated policies. 🗨️ The event, organised in the form of two roundtable discussions, will feature academic participants from universities, research and technology organisations (RTOs), including EERA members, industry representatives, members of the A.SPIRE association, and representatives from the European Commission.  The key topics will include: ·       the industrial carbon value chain ·       the development of circular, fossil-free, and energy-efficient industrial systems 💡 Learn more and register here: https://lnkd.in/edbrJ3hV  

⚡ The European clean energy sector continues to fear losing the global market race, as well as dread competition from China amidst growing trade tensions.   ⛓️💥 The EU's response to this situation is far from unified, with several recent developments highlighting divergences among member states.  Germany, China’s largest trade partner within the EU, is particularly notable in this regard: ➡️ Ahead of a first non-binding vote on the EU’s newly imposed provisional tariffs on Chinese battery electric vehicles (EVs), scheduled for the end of the month, Germany has already expressed its intention to push for a negotiated agreement with China.  ➡️ Germany has also adopted views more favourable to China than most of its EU counterparts in the wind turbine trade race. 💡Discover the latest open calls and positions related to COST Action EU-MACE! ➡️Call for abstracts at the 2024 International Conference on Materials and Energy (ICOME2024): This conference is dedicated to cutting-edge research that explores new horizons of knowledge on various topics that interlink between materials and energy applications fields. The abstract submission deadline has been extended until the end of July 2024. ➡️PhD Position at DIFFER - Dutch Institute for Fundamental Energy Research: DIFFER recently received a grant for two PhD students, one on experiments and one on modelling. This current vacancy is related to the modelling PhD, with a focus on microkinetic modelling using methods of control. ➡️Postdoctoral position at the University of Oviedo:  The aim is to theoretically study and develop next generation photoelectrochemical cells within the European project NEXPECH2.
