We are shaping smarter grids for your future!
About us
European Distribution System Operators (E.DSO) is the key-interface between Europe’s DSOs and the European institutions, and promotes the development and large-scale testing of smart grid technologies in real-life situations, new market designs and regulation. E.DSO gathers 39 leading electricity distribution system operators (DSOs) in 22 countries, including 3 national associations, cooperating to ensure the reliability of Europe’s electricity supply for consumers and enabling their active participation in our energy system. How? By shaping smarter grids for your future. E.DSO and its members are committed to taking on the huge challenges associated with realising the Energy Union, built on the EU’s ambitious energy, climate, security of supply, jobs and growth objectives. This involves ensuring the reliability and security of Europe’s electricity supply to consumers while enabling them to take a more active part in our energy system. E.DSO focuses on guiding EU research, demonstration and innovation (RD & I), policy and Member State regulation to support smart grids development for a sustainable energy system.

🚗🔋How can EV batteries power a sustainable energy system? E.DSO attended the 2nd edition of the V2X Symposium organised by ElaadNL to gain new insights on how #DSOs are gearing up for the electrification of our transport system. Here are our key takeaways: 💡 Well-designed pricing mechanisms, load control approaches and common data-sharing standards are key enables for the uptake of smart charging and #V2X solutions. 💡 Streamlining connection processes, permitting and charging infrastructure planning calls for close cooperation among DSOs and governmental stakeholders. 💡 Grid-friendly e-mobility solutions will require novel approaches in all dimensions of electricity distribution: from flexibility service procurement to customer interaction. 💡 While #V2G can effectively prevent the emergence of grid congestion issues, proper regulation is needed to prepare energy markets for the entry of new V2G players. The potential of V2X can no longer be questioned. Now it’s time to move towards an efficient V2X market implementation. 🔌 Discover all the V2X Symposium outcomes: https://bit.ly/4bLfb7X Tzeni Varfi Selene Liverani Baerte De Brey Arjan Wargers Jan Kůla Stanislav Hes Florentien Benedict
