The European Citizen Action Service (ECAS) is a Brussels-based international non-profit organisation with a pan-European membership and 30 years of experience. Its mission is to empower citizens to exercise their rights and to promote an open and inclusive decision-making through provision of high quality advice, research and advocacy, as well as capacity building to civil society organisations. Our colleagues attended the #SummerAcademy of Works 2024, which took place at the Educational Center Kloster Banz. They conducted a workshop on "Citizen Participation at the EU Level, Deliberative Democracy," where they presented the ECI Forum and facilitated a simulation exercise allowing participants to craft their own European Citizens' Initiative.
