Hospitals and Health Care
DIGICORE is a pan-European research network built to accelerate the implementation of precision oncology in Europe.
About us
DIGICORE promotes and equips cancer centres in their use of routine electronic health records (EHR) and molecular diagnostic information (MDX) for trial automation, real world outcomes research, digital diagnostics and care quality management. The ultimate goal is to shape a digital research infrastructure based on digital interoperability between its Members. Network membership supports them to improve data quality and completeness, develop new data sources and tools, share digital best practices and promote novel, digitally enabled research methods. DIGICORE is set-up as a European Economic Interest Grouping including several prominent cancer centres, two cancer networks, UNICANCER and Alleanza Contro il Cancro, and two commercial partners allied in this challenge.

Two inspiring days at the OHDSI (Observational Health Data Sciences & Informatics) Global Symposium 2024, New Brunswick, NJ, have come to an end. The symposium offered insightful considerations on what makes good real world evidence, showcased the power of large multi-institutional observational studies, and had highly interactive workgroup sessions on a variety of subjects. With emphasis on interdiciplinarity, broad international representation, and a unique combination of playfulness (quite literally) yet sincere dedication to good science, the OHDSI community creates engagement and enthusiasm. I was fortunate to present one of three DigiONE posters along with Jack Brewster and Lars S. I am very happy to share the first update from the DigiOne project Elisabeth Ross Olivier Bouissou Elin Hallan Naderi A Digicore Collaborative project where real world data on lung cancer patients from different European countries were analysed to investigate metastatic patttern and survival among patients with stage IV NSCLC. Data were curated, standardised and harmonised (OMOP) across different hospitals. Excellent job done! Great to see the accomplishment so far and looking forward to the continued collaboration! 📌 On Thursday 18th April, we held the first seminar of the #IDEAL4OMOP training programme. Over 70 participants (clinicians, data scientists, research managers, statisticians and others) from 14 countries and 40 separate organisations have now registered for this multi-year course. Participants will gain the skills and experience they need to become the digital oncology research leaders of the future, using OMOP standards, and aligning with the exciting work ongoing with the DIGICORE-I3 grant. 📌 The programme consists of a range of taught modules, covering both technical and leadership skills, and also a practical element: €300,000 will be awarded to participant teams to design and run their own studies – learning first-hand how to go from protocol concept to analytic outputs. 📌 Together with IDEAL4OMOP, we have now launched a parallel training programme, #MEDOC-ETL, which aims to support hospital data and IT colleagues in developing an OMOP research database in their organisation based on the DIGICORE MEDOC (“Minimum Essential Description of Cancer”) approach. 📌 This is open to all, but is proving to be of particular interest to sites in the DIGICORE-I3 programme, who will be working on implementing an OMOP instance in their centres. This course consists of two virtual webinars in May/June and a three-day face-to-face training event in Frankfurt in July. 🎓 To learn more about this programme, you can view the introductory seminar here 👉 https://lnkd.in/dZG9Kkje. All are welcome to attend the webinars, and there may still be spaces for the face-to-face training. ✉️ Feel free to contact [email protected] to receive more information about the training programmes 💯 Share this post and become a protagonist of cancer research development! #digicore #cancercare #cancerresearch #datascientists #medicaldata #trainingprogramme
