Public Affairs at JobRad / JobRad Österreich Surround yourself with people who would mention your name in a room full of opportunities!

Cycling Industries Europe without Kevin Mayne? What will happen next? Those were my first questions after Kevin told us to resign as a CEO. I want to take the moment to say thank you! Thank you for being a great CEO, panel partner, host and advisor. I will never forget the moment when you encouraged me to talk infront of hundreds of people who weren’t expecting me to even be on the panel. Hope to see you soon in one or another context.

"Your pledges matter" - Kerstin Jorna, Director General #DGGrow, European Commission at the #ciesummit2024 The #mobilitytransitionpathway is a part part of a green industrial strategy for #Europe. Cycling is a new part of this alongside Rail, Air and Auto. Because we are new, the Commission needs to understand what IS our industry doing to support this strategy? MTP pledging is a way to educate the commission on our activities. Reach out to Jacques Lovell with Cycling Industries Europe or Outside Advice to help you work through your pledge. #bikebiz #cyclingindustry #advocacy #policy #greenmobility #activemobility

YOU WANT A GREEN AND CLEAN INDUSTRIAL DEAL⁉️ YOU WANT THE BICYCLE INDUSTRY! 🚲💸💚❗️ - Report from an impressed observer!   The last two days I’ve been attending Cycling Industries Europes Members day and Summit. As a board member of European Cyclists' Federation I’ve had the privilege to observe the thoughts and energy of the vibrant and progressive companies and the hard working staff and board of CIE when they dived into a myriad of topics. And I have learned so much! Here’s a very small selection of what I’m taking with me:   💰💸 The “Micromobility industry” is to triple over the next 10 years according to McKinsey* and some investors are VERY aware of that and ready! About time that the rest of us wake up! * https://lnkd.in/dAwusizP 🇧🇪🇳🇱🇱🇺The BeNeLux countries, aka the test lab of Europe, once again prove how to lead and define the future of cycling. They don’t want to follow the bicycle path, they want to built it! Today they announced a new initiative to strengthen cycling industries in their countries! 🪪 The digital product passport is a brilliant idea to ensure more transparency of the entire value chain and it’s essential for products’ sustainability and circularity. But it will not be easy to comply which leaves all the more reason for the industry to join forces and set a good standard! 👩🏻 Women are still underrepresented in the industry. Especially more mentorship programs, and CEOs & boards taking a clear stand, are required. ✨One of the biggest stars of the show, Kevin Maine, CEO of CIE is leaving. The last two days showed clearly how important he’s been to the industry and cycling in general. When he started in the cycling world no one talked about how the industry can contribute with more jobs in Europe. Today the goal is a million more jobs by 2030. And personally, I am flabbergastingly impressed. Because as Kevin reminded me, I’m one out of two**, who was there when he started at ECF 12 years ago and when he said ‘Thank you for the ride’ at his last CIE Summit today. The last two days have proven his amazing legacy! As president @Tony grimaldi also made clear in his touching speech. **(Back then, I was an intern at ECF and the other person present today, @Bernard Ensink, was the secretary general.) Thanks to all the people I had so many interesting discussions with and to the CIE staff and board. With the EU deal shifting from ‘Green’ to ‘Clean Industrial’ you will all play an incredibly important role in showing that both deals a possible! Because you are truly a WIN WIN industry👏✨💸🚲 Lauha Marianne Fried Jacques Lovell Sofie Neven Mojgan Arfai samual pierce Pablo Pignerol @tony Grimaldi, Isabell Eberlein April Marshke, MBA Anna Buchmann Raymond Gense Georges Gilkinet Frans Weekers

    Cycling Industry Expert and Advocate

"Every cyclist is an economic success story" - Cycling Industries Europe President, Tony Grimaldi. A great reminder during this week's #ciesummit2024 that what we do in the cycling industry matters. No need to be humble. We move people: - from home to job - from job to family - from supermarket to friends - from sickness to wellness - from injured to athletic - from sad to happy - from alone to among - from city to nature - from suburbs to city - from traffic to terrific - country to country Creating a world that seems without borders. The shift is happening. The funding, willingness and intelligence is here. Now is the time for action. When you look back at your career, can you say you were a part of it? Join me in the movement of moving people... in every way. Happy to offer guidance and connections. #cyclingindustry #bikebiz #cycleeurope #mobility #activemobility #health #greenmobility

    COO at Cyclis Bike Lease

Such an inspiring CIE Summit today in Brussels. Many thanks Cycling Industries Europe to invite such interesting and important stakeholders! Let’s all work together on the mobility transition. As quoted by Herman Van Beveren today: “We have a solution, it’s called a bike.” But also a good and safe cycling infrastructure is key. Filip Boelaert mentioned that Belgium will continue investing about €300M on it’s cycling infrastructure. 🤝 Christian Krug, one of our colleagues of JobRad discussed the positive impact of company bike leasing and its implications for the entire cycling sector. He emphasized that bike leasing has high growth potential and can significantly boost cycling in Europe, encouraging more people to start and continue cycling. 🚲💪🏼 Rosanne Vanpée, researcher at Transport & Mobility Leuven and Professor of Finance at KU Leuven presented the key findings of the TML report, highlighting that the Belgian cycling economy is growing much faster than Belgian GDP: “In 2022, the Belgian bicycle industry generated almost a billion euros in net added value and employed more than 17,000 full-time workers.” 📈📊 Let’s work together as a joined cycling industry and lead the zero carbon mobility transition! 👊🏻🚲 Benelux Union Cyclis Bike Lease JobRad #CIE2024Summit #CyclingIndustriesEurope #Zerocarbonmobility #bikeleasing

📸 The #CIE2024Summit closing panel, “Towards an Industrial Strategy for the BENELUX Cycling Ecosystem” brought Benelux stakeholder representatives, associations, and companies on stage to support the development of an industrial cycling strategy for the Benelux, resulting in this group picture. 🎊 It is very important for the Benelux Union to receive this symbolic green light from industry representatives as they launch their process towards developing an industrial strategy for cycling in the Benelux. #CIE2024Summit #CyclingIndustriesEurope #CyclingIndustry #Benelux

I (re)launch brands and scale them to millions: Consultant/ Entrepreneur/ Contractor; for launches, turnarounds & tuneups.

The cycling economy in Belgium, current and potential, by Rosanne Vanpée (researcher uni Leuven): Normalized cycling means money even before externalities are considered (From Cycling Industries Europe summit in Brussels). On doing a broad scope study; industry, sales, workshops, activities, tourism, shared schemes, second hand, and more, Uni Leuven analysed the economic value of Cycling for Belgium. Net value added of cycling for Belgium alone in 2022 was almost €1B (€951M) [~ €80 per capita], with 17500 jobs currently provided. The trend is upwards for cycling in the long term; steady up until '20, then surged through 21 and 22 of course. In fact cycling grew twice as fast as the full belgian economy. Powerhouses for example are tourism, infrastructure, commercial sales. 3 main activites were identified as future divers of growth: Bike leasing , each 1000 bikes = 27 jobs €2.8M benefit, Bike Sharing each 1000 bikes = 29 Jobs and €2.9M benefit, Bike Logistics (food, packages, etc). Studies find thay 25% of urban deliveries can be done by bike. It is just 1% today. On hitting 25%, that would generate a total 8992 Jobs and €231M benefit.
