We have kicked off the European Youth Cooperative Forum today, co-organised with CCU Bulgaria, focusing on Youth & Cooperative Governance. This event brings together young cooperators from across Europe, creating a space for open dialogue not just between young people and our board, but also among youth themselves. Together, we’re exploring key questions: ➡️ How can we make cooperative governance more accessible for young people? ➡️ What are the main challenges young cooperators face, and how can we work together to overcome them? We’re excited about the meaningful discussions and insights that will come out of this event. Thank you to CCU Bulgaria for hosting us, and all our speakers and participants for making this happen! We had an incredibly productive and positive exchange with our former colleague Silvia Schiavon from LegacoopNazionale today. We talked about: - Identifying Italian Members of the European Parliament #coopsupporters, - The Framework Partnership (FFPA 2) scope of activities, structure shift, regional focus & lessons from the ICA-EU Partnership (FPA 1). #coops4dev 🌍

At least 3.3 million individuals are working in cooperatives in the EU. Cooperatives provide at least 1.83% of all jobs in the EU. More facts? 📢 Read the long-awaited report “Benchmarking the socio-economic performance of the EU Social Economy” 📕 While not fully complete (no data yet from the Netherlands and Malta), the report offers key insights: 1️⃣ Better Understanding: Cooperatives need more recognition beyond economic metrics like GDP. The report calls for increased awareness of their social value in EU policy and public discussions. 2️⃣ Visibility & Shared Vision: There’s a need for a unified vision for the cooperative sector across Europe, given the varying recognition in Member States. 3️⃣ Data Gaps: The report stresses the importance of consistent statistics on cooperatives to measure their economic and social impact effectively. Today we attended the #YEPA (Youth Entrepreneurship Policy Academy) workshop organised by the OECD - OCDE and the European Commission. We explored a crucial aspect of youth entrepreneurship: 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐬. 💡 𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘭 𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘣𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘹𝘵𝘳𝘢-𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘴,... 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘶𝘳𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘦 𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘴. The new Parliament has been formed!
