🆗 Ensuring safety and efficiency while flying over residential areas is a top priority. 👉 If you're interested in learning more about how the next generation of EU aircraft is tackling this challenge through Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), don't miss Professor Zahra Sharif Khodaei’s lecture at Imperial College London on Wednesday, 13 November. #SHM enables real-time remote monitoring by integrating sensors into the vehicle’s structure, giving aircraft cognitive abilities to adapt and respond to operational challenges as they arise. Imperial College's contributions to past Clean Aviation programmes have been insightful in this domain. A successfully closed project called #SHERLOC, explored the potential of SHM for monitoring, remote inspection, and damage assessment. 🖍️ No registration is required, but attendance is on a first-come, first-served basis. You can join either in person or online. https://lnkd.in/dzw_UNNF

✈️ This week, we were thrilled to join the European Parliament alongside other EU Agencies and Joint Undertakings. It was an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of European decision-making and showcase the potential of our projects in driving forward the EU Green Deal objectives. 🔹 Over the course of three days, we engaged directly with #MEPs, sharing our achievements, and discussing the challenges that lie ahead as we work towards a more sustainable tomorrow. 👏 Thank you to everyone involved for organising this opportunity. #EUParliament #CleanAviation #Sustainability #Research #Innovation

💬 🗣️ Yesterday I attended the annual Luchtvaart in Transitie event in Madurodam, The Hague. This event focuses on the transition to sustainable aviation, highlighting three key enablers of change: #opportunity, #community, and #tenacity. 👀 As a member of the International Advisory Council of LiT, I was pleased to participate in an international panel discussion on "Leveraging collaboration and synergies to accelerate the transition." I was joined by leading experts in the field, including Sophie Lane, @sabine kremnitzer, Adriaan Leyte, Michel Peters. I would like to Congratulate Ron van Manen, Project Director at #LiT and his team for this successful event. My key takeaways are: 🔹 A clear vision supported by resources to implement a plan geared towards measurable impacts (both for public and private sector) is required to foster collaboration. The updated Clean Aviation Strategic Research & Innovation Agenda offers a unified vision across Europe for R&I priorities and objectives for future disruptive technologies aimed at accelerating the adoption of new products and services for Entry in Service by 2035, advancing the transition towards a carbon-neutral sector. 🔹Clean Aviation serves as an EU-level catalyst, bringing together various instruments and initiatives to advance R&I in aviation through an integrated approach across multiple disciplines at EU level (Collaborative Research, #SESAR, #CHJU, #Batt4EU, #EASA) and to connect with other funding programmes in other EU countries such as #CORAC, #LUFO, #LiT, #CDTI, #ATI 🔹Clean Aviation strongly supports and promotes the development of #synergies at the EU, national, and regional levels. We acknowledged with other panelist the importance of stimulating the development of knowledge and to support Academia to train the talents of tomorrow to transition to Carbon neutral Aviation by 2050.

🔊 Today marked the first day of our participation at the European Parliament as representatives of various European #Agencies and #JointUndertakings. ➕ Over the next two days, our mission is to raise awareness on how we contribute to Europe’s strategic priorities. #Collaboration and #alignment across sectors and institutions are critical in this effort, especially as we work toward the ambitious goal of #decarbonisation. 💪 By working together, we can accelerate the development of technologies that will make Europe's transport sector more sustainable. 🔊 The Clean Sky 2 SOLIFLY project is making significant strides toward the electrification of air travel. By integrating electrical storage directly into aircraft structures through multifunctional "structural batteries," SOLIFLY has demonstrated how this innovation can 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥- 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦-𝐡𝐚𝐮𝐥 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬. 👍 This breakthrough could substantially reduce aircraft emissions and support the EU Green Deal's goal of carbon-neutral air travel by 2050. ➕ The project also highlights the importance of reducing aviation's environmental impact through technology-driven solutions like hybrid-electric propulsion and e-taxiing. 🇪🇺 ✈️ We're landing soon at the European Parliament! Clean Aviation is proud to be part of the dedicated EU Agencies Network Exhibition that will take place at the EP during 1-3 October. A total of 45 EU Agencies and Joint Undertakings, will be present at the EP with a common goal: raising awareness on their role to bring Europe’s Research & Innovation forward. Joint Undertakings are mission-driven entities that received the European Commission’s mandate to drive innovation through funding opportunities, enhancing the resilience, competitiveness, and welfare of the European community in specific fields. 👏 We are excited about this great opportunity to introduce our JU to the new representatives of the European Parliament, discussing our Programme’s achievements and future goals. #Research #Innovation #EUfund
