Naar jaarlijkse traditie had ik de eer en het genoegen om als moderator op te treden tijdens de uitreiking van de Fakkel tijdens de Family Business Happening van Voka - Kamer van Koophandel Limburg. Bedankt Ellen Olislagers en haar team om van dit event altijd een topeditie te maken. Eerst ging ik met Bart Claes, Ann Claes en Lucas Geuens in gesprek over continuïteit en governance in de Claes Retail Group. Erg inspirerend gesprek waarin duidelijk werd waarom dit familiebedrijf een terechte winnaar was van de Fakkel 2023. Knap staaltje corporate & familiale governance! Ook bedankt om ons te ontvangen in de prachtige gebouwen van JBC! Nadien ging ik in debat met de 3 geselecteerde familiebedrijven voor de Fakkel 2024. Thibaud Demot & Raf Houben van Democo Group, Roel Paesmans & Karel Paesmans van Fruitsnacks en Marion Van Zon & Nand Peeters van Horeca Van Zon waren terechte finalisten! Tijdens het interessante paneldebat liet elk van deze familiebedrijven zien hoe zij de continuïteit van het bedrijf garanderen. Blijf zo verder doen! Er kan echter maar 1 winnaar uit de bus komen, en dat is dit jaar het team van Marion Van Zon! Nogmaals dikke proficiat!! Today is 𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗪𝗜𝗦𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗡'𝗦 𝗗𝗔𝗬: a day to break through the stereotypes around women and aging because wisdom and vitality have no age-based restrictions.   On this 9th of April 2024, we introduce the first NATIONAL WISE WOMEN'S DAY, an initiative that 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀. Beyond stereotypes of representation and image – unfortunately all too common in the fashion, media and beauty industry - we aim to inspire women to express themselves and make their voices heard. It is a call to all wise women to be proud of who they are and show the world what they have to offer, especially when they have been around for many years.   With this NATIONAL WISE WOMEN'S DAY embraces the diversity and beauty of women of all ages. We want to raise awareness for and show how to embrace life experience with a zest for life and positivism. We sent out a special letter inviting women to 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵, 𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝘆. In doing so, we want to support them and call on them to set an example for younger women on what potential is out there while growing older.
