As an HR professional, manager, employer or employee, discover how neurodiversity adds value to your company. This is an event in Dutch (Nederlands) only. It’s been busy times for the people behind Breaking the Silos, hence the absence of events since October 2023. Yet, co-organisers Daphné and Dietrich from Bjièn – Unlocking the power of neurodiversity at work are organising a free event in Ghent on “neurodiversity at work”. This event is supported by the city of Ghent and co-hosted by other partners in the domain of neurodiversity. The day will be filled with a keynote, a panel discussion between business leaders and managers, and various workshops and presentations. Place to be is De Krook in Ghent on Tuesday 17 September 2024, 13:00 CEST. If you are Dutch speaking and were (or wish you were) present at our first event on neurodiversity in tech in June 2022, you might consider attending! Check in the comments for the sign-up link. #neurodiversiteit #adhd #autisme #introvert #gent #conferentie

Be there! (Merci voor de foto's Daphné De Troch en Patrick Van Renterghem)

I attended the "Breaking the Silos: Seeing Problems as Opportunities" conference in Ghent at Teamleader, featuring a powerful keynote by Leon Vliegen on "The Upside of Risk – the unknown and unpredictable." The event focused on agility in dealing with risk, emphasizing mindset, cognitive, emotional, and actionable strategies. "When you take a risk, what is the worst thing that can happen?” The worst thing that can happen is that you may not achieve the desired outcome. You might face setbacks, challenges, or even failure. But even in these moments, you gain valuable experience and knowledge that can lead to personal growth and resilience. Conversely, when you take a risk, what is the best thing that can happen? The best thing that can happen is that you achieve your goals, realize your dreams, and experience a sense of fulfillment. You might uncover new opportunities, learn, and grow in ways you never imagined. Taking risks can open doors to success, innovation, and a life well-lived.  So, in the face of uncertainty, remember that both challenges and triumphs are part of the journey. Take that leap; your agile adventure awaits. If you ever have the chance to attend an event featuring Leon Vliegen, I highly recommend it. A man who has a lot of patience with his audience and is a true inspiration for many in today's dynamic world.  I find the Breaking the Silos initiative truly remarkable. Its commitment to fostering collaboration, sustainability, and inclusivity in Belgian organizations is not only commendable but also essential for driving positive change. #Leadership #Agility #RiskManagement #UpsideOfRisk #Conference #Opportunity #BreakingTheSilo

Some very useful tips, lessons learned from experience, and tricks to turn risks and uncertainty into opportunity by Liesbeth Marckx - indeed, not your average business coach: * Talking solutions, not problems, really helps! (thanks Steve de Shazer for this) * Find out what works, and focus on that! * Compliment people, magnify their strengths, not their weaknesses #breakingthesilos Breaking the Silos

At the mini-conference "Turning Challenges into Opportunities" of Breaking the Silos, Steven Noels brings a personal story about the topics of this evening: uncertainty, risk, and how to handle this. He limited this to his professional experience and finished with a great conclusion: "#empathy is a sign of intelligence, and it is your moral duty"... #breakingthesilos

The Breaking the Silos mini-conference at Teamleader's headquarters focuses on "Turning Challenges into Opportunities". Leon Vliegen keynotes in the Upside of Risk – the unknown and unpredictable, and makes it interactive. Looking forward to hear the key messages from his book "Risico Verzilveren". The meetup was sold out (70 registrations) so a lot of people want to know how to handle risk, serious challenges, and the 3 U's - Uncertainty, Unpredictability, and (probably unknown) Unknowns. #breakingthesilos #risicoverzilveren
