Nothing is as it seems in this corner building on the Leien in Antwerp. At first sight a coherent interwar architecture, but in actual fact an organically evolved series of additions, extensions and changes which nonetheless come across visually as a whole. How to add another layer to this rich history – literally? After intense architectural research, the existing building is crowned with a refined and elegant volume between Theaterplein and Stadspark. We are proud to announce the competition we won for the design of the new gatehouse on the former Ford site in Genk. The city of Genk has found a definitive destination for the last part of the former Ford site: a modern logistics campus. The project, a collaboration between Group Machiels and transport company H.Essers, will contain a recognizable 11-storey gatehouse, which should give a new face to the Genk-Zuid region. [1727 BOOD] Brig, Boom (@brig_boom) Newly built 4 urban villas with 97 apartments and underground parking Continuous precast concrete surrounds were chosen with a profiled aluminum cladding in between, painted in a shading color. The cladding consists of folded aluminum panels with a Euramica paint, a special paint that, depending on the lighting, exhibits a shifting color. Depending on the viewing direction and incidence of light, this changes the perception of the color, the effect will be more gold or more green.
