As part of the Electrification Alliance, we urge the European Commission to set up an #ElectrificationActionPlan within the first 100 days of its new mandate 🇪🇺 We support this through the #100DaysToElectrificy campaign, which was launched earlier this year ahead of a meeting with DG ENER of the European Commission. ⚡ 💯 Find out more as our Policy Manager, Raphaël Héliot, outlines the goals of the campaign in the video below 📽 👇
Let’s move #electrification to the fast track!⚡💪 On this #ThrowbackThursday, watch Raphaël Héliot from AVERE - The European Association for Electromobility, talk more about the goals of our #100DaysToElectrify campaign, before a meeting with the European Commission's Deputy Director-General for Energy Mechthild Wörsdörfer back in June. 🗣 We need to boost #electrification, from generators to consumers. This can only be achieved through concrete targets 🎯 especially in the transport, heating, and industry sectors. In order to stay competitive, we need a clear path; the new European Commission must publish an Electrification Action Plan within its first 1️⃣ 0️⃣ 0️⃣ days❗ Electrification will power the Clean Industrial Deal! We support the declaration calling for the EU not to re-open its 2035 zero-emission car & van targets and are glad to see AVERE members represented among the co-signatories! 👏 In order for the sector to grow and cement itself, regulatory certainty is needed. In fact, CO2 standards provide certainty for investments beyond the automotive ecosystem - we encourage stakeholders to build on these immense strives made instead of creating further hurdles. ❗ Read more here 👉 https://lnkd.in/e8NMZWEi
Today CEOs and executives from Volvo Cars, Uber, leasing giant Ayvens and over 40 other companies called on the EU to not re-open the 2035 zero-emission target for cars and vans. In a public declaration, the automotive, clean tech, transport and energy companies say the target provides much needed investment certainty on the future of the automotive industry in Europe. The signatories, including executives from Polestar, Rivian, Iberdrola, A.P. Moller - Maersk, Tesco and IKEA’s largest franchisee, Ingka Group, said the target is feasible and necessary and gives companies a clear direction. These companies are strongly committed to the EU’s climate neutrality goal and many have invested massively to make it a reality. The new EU Commission and MEPs must establish the regulatory stability companies need by not wavering on the 2035 phase-out of the sale of combustion engines cars. Instead, they should focus on implementing targeted industrial policy and investment support for a sustainable local battery value chain, rolling out charging and clean electricity supply, greening corporate fleets, and re-skilling workers for the electric transition.
