🩺 Imagine you are a candidate for a clinical trial in another European country, but you can’t get there because of a maze of rules, costs, and red tape. That's the reality for many who lack treatment options in their home country, and it's why the EU-X-CT initiative is so important. It’s all about breaking down those walls and making sure that no matter where you live in Europe, you can access innovative treatments. 🔓This is where we need your help. To make meaningful progress, the EU-X-CT initiative is conducting surveys. We urge everyone who has navigated this complex landscape of trying to access a clinical trial abroad to participate in the surveys of EU-X-CT. Your input is invaluable and will help us understand what needs to change and how we can advocate for needed changes. 📣 This is the perfect summary of the Multistakeholder Meeting today: the participants defined action items to bring more and better treatments to patients with pancreatic cancer. ✅ The Anticancer Fund and Pancreatic Cancer Europe are committed to advancing research and improving access to care for pancreatic cancer patients across Europe. This meeting was a significant step towards bridging gaps in care and enhancing treatment protocols through collaborative efforts. We believe joint efforts are key to make a difference, and helping patients confronted with pancreatic cancer. We extend our sincere appreciation to all participants and supporters who are contributing to this important conversation about pancreatic cancer. 🤝 Thank you PCE Pancreatic Cancer Europe for making this happen. The Anticancer Fund proudly announces the launch of a call for research projects in the treatment of rare cancers, together with five other organisations. It is the second time this consortium, ATTRACT, funds clinical trials to stimulate the development of better treatments for rare cancer patients. Together, we're tackling one of the most pressing challenges in cancer research: developing new treatments for rare cancers. 🔬 Why It Matters: Rare cancers represent 20% of all new cancer diagnoses, yet they remain significantly under-researched. Patients often have few or no treatment options due to the difficulty of developing drugs for small patient populations. This is where ATTRACT steps in. 🤝 Our Goal: By funding international, collaborative clinical trials, we aim to stimulate the development of better drug therapies in Europe. The focus of our call is on innovative 2/3 clinical trials. 📅 What’s Next? The call opens in September 2024, with a budget of up to €12.4 million earmarked.
