❗ 📊 Motorcycle and Moped Registrations in Key European Markets for the first 9 months of 2024 🏍️New motorcycle registrations in the five largest European markets (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK) reached 885,500 units, reflecting a 1.3% increase compared to the same period in 2023 (874,004 units). 🛵Moped registrations fell to 132,533 units, down 14.5% from last year, with all monitored markets reporting declines. 💬 Antonio Perlot, ACEM Secretary General: “The European motorcycle market remains stable, with mixed national performances. Overall, motorcycles match the best nine-month performance in the last five years, while moped registrations and electric propulsion are shrinking. The last quarter of the year is usually slower in terms of volumes, but the imminent EICMA and INTERMOT shows will lead us into 2025, bringing the spotlight on manufacturers’ new vehicle lineups and raising consumer interest.” 🔎 Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/dv_DFgmr

One of our key initiatives that drives this mission is the European Motorcycle Training Quality Label 🛑⚡ Working hand-in-hand with the Deutscher Verkehrssicherheitsrat (DVR) e.V. and the FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme), we proudly promote high-quality post-license training schemes that meet rigorous, objective evaluation criteria. The European Motorcycle Training Quality Label helps riders easily identify the best training schools across Europe, giving them access to courses designed to promote responsible riding. 🌍 This initiative earned the Excellence in Road Safety Award 2019 🏆, recognising its pivotal role in improving rider safety and raising awareness of the importance of advanced training. 🔋 ACEM had the pleasure of participating in the Stan4SWAP Advisory Board meeting - a Horizon Europe project focused on supporting the decarbonisation of urban mobility. 🌍🏙️ STAN4SWAP is leading the way by developing a standardisation roadmap for swappable battery systems in L-category vehicles, providing a safe, secure, and environmentally friendly solution for the mobility sector. 🛵 💪 At ACEM, we believe swappable technology is a key solution for cities to achieve technological neutrality and zero emissions goals. 💡As highlighted in our Vision 2030 and the Motorcycling Manifesto, the motorcycling industry is committed to exploring a multi-pathway approach to decarbonisation by 2050.
