❗ 📊 Motorcycle and Moped Registrations in Key European Markets for the first 9 months of 2024 🏍️New motorcycle registrations in the five largest European markets (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK) reached 885,500 units, reflecting a 1.3% increase compared to the same period in 2023 (874,004 units). 🛵Moped registrations fell to 132,533 units, down 14.5% from last year, with all monitored markets reporting declines. 💬 Antonio Perlot, ACEM Secretary General: “The European motorcycle market remains stable, with mixed national performances. Overall, motorcycles match the best nine-month performance in the last five years, while moped registrations and electric propulsion are shrinking. The last quarter of the year is usually slower in terms of volumes, but the imminent EICMA and INTERMOT shows will lead us into 2025, bringing the spotlight on manufacturers’ new vehicle lineups and raising consumer interest.” 🔎 Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/dv_DFgmr

Have you ever wondered what happens to motorcycles at the end of their life? ♻️Circularity is a key pillar of ACEM’s vision 2030 , guiding us to make motorcycling greener and more sustainable. We’re thrilled to share how our industry is rising to today’s environmental challenges! 🚀 🏍️With new EU rules on the horizon, manufacturers will go beyond production, supporting recycling, recovery, and repurposing at the end of a motorcycle’s journey. 🔄💡 ❗ We're calling for a regulatory approach that supports both sustainability and competitiveness! ACEM is advocating for: 🔹 A 60-month lead time to support a smooth and sustainable transition. 🔹 Exclusions for small series motorcycles to keep the playing field fair. 🔹 A clear and fair legal framework around Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs). 🔎 Read ACEM’s position here: https://lnkd.in/d66QxN5x ✨Discover more in the video below European Commission Francesco F. #Circulareconomy #sustainability #mobility #motorcycling

🏍️ Enhancing Rider Safety Together! 🛡️ At ACEM, we are fully committed to making Europe's roads safer for motorcyclists. One of our key initiatives that drives this mission is the European Motorcycle Training Quality Label 🛑⚡ Working hand-in-hand with the Deutscher Verkehrssicherheitsrat (DVR) e.V. and the FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme), we proudly promote high-quality post-license training schemes that meet rigorous, objective evaluation criteria. The European Motorcycle Training Quality Label helps riders easily identify the best training schools across Europe, giving them access to courses designed to promote responsible riding. 🌍 This initiative earned the Excellence in Road Safety Award 2019 🏆, recognising its pivotal role in improving rider safety and raising awareness of the importance of advanced training. Together, we can make motorcycling safer for everyone. 🏍️ Still reflecting on the “Riding Together for Europe” event with FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme). We were honoured to have two-time Superbike World Champion James Toseland as a speaker, sharing his passion for motorcycling. 🏁As James reminded us, motorcycling is a way of life 🩵. We couldn’t agree more! 🙌Huge thanks to the Autoworld Museum Brussels for hosting us!
On the 11th of September, the annual Motorcycling Reception “Riding Together For Europe” took place at Autoworld. Organized by ACEM. European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers, the joint organization for the Motorcycle Industry in Europe, and the international motorcycling federation FIM, the event aimed to raise awareness of motorcycling among EU institutions, positioning motorcycles as part of the solution for future sustainable mobility. Key topics included road safety, sustainability, industrial competitiveness, research and innovation, tourism, and motorsports. One of the honored guests and speakers was two-time Superbike World Champion James Toseland. The Briton spoke passionately about motorcycling, a sentiment often overlooked at the political level. He also explored the museum’s temporary exhibition, ‘Motorcycle Design,’ reflecting on whether motorcycles are merely tools for racing or objects of true desire. 👉 What do you think—are motorcycles purely functional, or objects of passion and desire?
