Breakfast Not Included
There is a bug D:
If you get past week 20-25 and all of the guests have long gone, but the game doesn't show you the end of season summary, it's bugged out and will need restarting (but I understand if you just move on to the next, there's a lot of amazing games to get through)
Congratulations!
You have bought a hotel! This was a great idea and I'm sure nothing will go wrong.
Due to the nature of hotelling, you can only work on your hotel during the offseasons, because we can't jolly well have builders tearing down the walls while marge is in the shower, can we. Tally ho.
Your goal is to make your hotel as appealing as possible, while keeping the lights on. remember, guests pay bills, so make sure you have enough guest rooms to cover your expenses, but also make sure your hotel is rated highly enough that guest will stay in those rooms.
If you make it to the end of the season without going bankrupt, you can make more modifications. Ad infinitum. Such is the hotelier way.
How to Play
- During off-season build mode, left click to place a room, right click to remove a room.
- Scroll wheel to move up and the down the hotel
- Rooms can only be placed on top of other rooms
- Guest rooms that are not connected to an elevator will not generate revenue
- Guest rooms only make money when a guest is staying in them
- Your stats are displayed in the bottom left
Income shows your actual earnings and potential earnings. always ensure your potential earnings are higher than your expenses otherwise you will lose money.
Your hotel's appeal rating dictates how likely people are to stay, so you need to balance your potential income with your appeal rating. It's no use having a hundred rooms if nobody wants to stay in them.
Place your rooms and press "begin" when you are ready to start the season. The seasons lasts for approximately 16 weeks. At the end of the season (if you don't bankrupt first) you can make more modification to your hotel, to try and make more next season.
Remember to leave some cash for operating expenses. If you start the season with no money, you will immediately go bankrupt when your first bill arrives.
GMTK Jam
This game was made for the 2024 GMTK jam. The theme was "Built to Scale". My interpretation of the theme is that you must build your hotel to accomodate as many guests as possible without racking up so much in running costs, that you go bankrupt before making enough money. You literally have to build your hotel to scale (with the number of guests).

The idea of the game is cool! The art is lovely, but i would love to have more things to do while they are costumers comins and going to bankrupt JSJS. Like dancing in the entrance to make more people come to the hotel. But I like the result! Good job <3
Yeah I ran out of time to put more STUFF in the game unfortunately. Glad you liked what was there though! Thank you for playing!
