WA! Fest in Singapore celebrated Western Australian premium produce! Invest and Trade Western Australia collaborated with gourmet retailer Little Farms to promote WA exporters. The campaign involved a series of events running from 3 to 16 June, including wine masterclasses and a producers’ showcase where attendees could taste delicious WA products. During the campaign, 3 WA brands debuted products in the Singaporean market. Facilitated by Invest and Trade WA, the products included Dirty Clean Food’s Blackwood Valley Beef and Green Range Lamb, Hippie Brewing Co Kombucha, and Nectar Honey. Attendees enjoying the weekend markets showcasing WA produce were visited by Quinton the Quokka! The campaign aims to increase awareness of the safety, sustainability, and superior quality of Western Australian products, and to grow our exports into the competitive Singapore market. Building Health and Medical Life Sciences (HLMS) ties in the United States at BIO24! Between 3-6 June, 20 Western Australian HLMS companies and research institutes participated in BIO24, the largest global event for the biotechnology industry. This delegation was supported by the Life Sciences team at the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI) and the Invest and Trade Western Australia (ITWA) Americas Hub team, in collaboration with MTPConnect and the WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub. 4 WA companies also received Market Access Grant Scheme (MAGS) funding of $5,000 each, to support their travel and registration costs to attend the conference. The recipients included Argenica, VitalTrace, Resonance Health and Avicena. JTSI and ITWA also supported the delivery of Bridgewest Connects: Linking Global Biotech to South Australia and Western Australia, an event from the WA Government and SA Government in collaboration with Bridgewest. The event provided firsthand insights into investment in Australia and provided opportunities to strengthen partnerships with Australian industry leaders. WA's participation in BIO24 helped to: ⭐ Build recognition of WA as a destination to work, partner and invest for individuals, companies and investors in the sector. ⭐ Support the growth of innovation in the HMLS sector in WA. ⭐ Strengthen links with the U.S. market and accelerate pathways towards commercialisation for WA companies. Showcasing WA’s film industry, education opportunities, and culinary finesse in Indonesia! Invest and Trade WA was proud to present a week-long series of events highlighting Western Australian excellence for WA Week 2024 in Indonesia. The events took place in Jakarta and Surabaya and featured screenings of the WA film Blueback as part of Festival Sinema Australia Indonesia, hosted by the Australian Embassy, Indonesia. The screenings provided an opportunity to engage with stakeholders in Indonesia’s creative industries and included special guest and Blueback water cinematographer, Rick Rifici. WA education agent workshops and open days were also held in Jakarta and Surabaya, connecting Indonesian students, parents, and education agents with representatives from 12 leading education and training institutions from Western Australia. WA Week also provided a platform to showcase premium Western Australian lamb, in collaboration with Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) and supported by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development. The Lambtastic Battle saw 40 chefs from restaurants and hotels in Jakarta and East Java challenged to create innovative dishes with versatile WA lamb. The winners will head to WA to experience firsthand the world-leading production systems and natural beauty that WA has to offer. WA’s path forward to a low carbon and renewables future was a focus of the Australian Financial Review (AFR) Mining Summit 2024, held in Perth on Wednesday 22 May. The Summit enabled leaders from across the resources sector to delve into the challenges of competing globally, extending the value chain, creating a low carbon future and contributing to the next round of Australian prosperity. Western Australia's education opportunities were showcased at the Study Australia Fair in Seoul! 🌏🎓 The Study Australia 2024 Fair, an annual Australian education fair hosted by Austrade, was held at COEX (Seoul) on 25 May 2024. This year’s event saw an incredible turnout with over 1,200 attendees, almost doubling last year's attendance!
