Building meaningful and enduring relationships with the communities we serve is core to Downer's values, and partnerships like this with Aruma are a testament to seeing those values in action. #EnablingCommunitiesToThrive #AustralianManufacturing Liam Parker Aaron Wylie
Championing local manufacturing and inclusive employment. Last week, the Downer Future Energy Solutions team welcomed Supported Employees from Aruma, a registered NDIS disabilities services provider, to our manufacturing facility in Hexham. Downer engaged Aruma as a supplier in 2023, to provide preformed cable and terminal mounting strips that go into the manufacture of switchboards and other electrical components. The visit gave Aruma’s supported employees a unique insight into how their contributions integrate into Downer’s manufacturing process. It was a powerful reminder of the impact inclusive employment practices can have on both community and industry. Partnerships with suppliers and local organisations like Aruma reinforce our deep commitment to building meaningful and enduring relationships with the communities we serve. Read more about our work with Aruma on Downer News: https://lnkd.in/gRTq7i7b Thanks to the Downer team Liam Parker Aaron Wylie and Aruma Brent Robards and Justin Murphy for bringing this visit to life! It represents our commitment to nurturing talent, supporting education, and fostering innovation within the engineering community. In May, our Future Energy Architecture Lead, Christian Douglas, had the honour of presenting the award to this years’ recipient, Jessica Xu. Congratulations, Jessica, on your remarkable accomplishments!
