Professor Talal Yassine AM, is a proud Australian entrepreneur, business leader, academic, philanthropist and keynote speaker.
Professor Yassine is the Managing Director of Salaam, the new frontier in Shariah-compliant wealth creation, offering Australia’s one million-strong Muslim community access to inclusive wealth creation and personal finance solutions.
He is also currently the Chairman of First Quay Capital, Board Member of Taronga Zoo and a Director of the Western Sydney Foundation Council Board, Salaam Finance, Salaam Foundation and Salaam Institute.
Talal has previously served on the Corporate Boards of Australia Post, Sydney Ports, Macquarie University and as the Chairman of Platinum Hearing and Chairman of the Council of Australian-Arab Relations - Australian Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade.
Talal holds a Master of Laws, a Master of Business Administration - focused on international business strategy. Talal has been appointed as a Vice Chancellor’s Professorial Fellow within the Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University, Adjunct Professor within the School of Business, Western Sydney University and most recently an Adjunct Fellow with Macquarie Law School.
On the King’s Birthday 2024 Talal was appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his service to business and to the community.

Any given week, prospective Australian explorers can jump on close to 200 flights from Dubai and Abu Dhabi - and that's just from the UAE's national carriers and their partners. Add all the other carriers that use the UAE's position as the Middle East's largest transit hub, and that number of flights to Australia climbs to the mid-200s. Each and every week!
Those planes are not flying back from Australia empty, either. In 2014 alone, more than 320,000 Australians flew to the UAE. I know - more numbers. However, the whole concept has really got me thinking. Perhaps it is time to actively pursue an Australia-UAE dialogue that consolidates our countries' significant investment in each other's future? -
