You are likely to witness a switch to Xero’s brand new invoicing model from 2 September 2024. Mark 9am on your clocks. While classic invoicing will be around in the region until 20 November 2024, 9am, the platform plans on warming up users beforehand, so that they become familiar with the new experience. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 & 𝐒𝐞𝐩: - Addressing invoices to a contact group while auto-generating identical invoices for all members of the contact group. - Viewing tax rates and breakdowns in the invoice creation screen. This applies to those with multi-jurisdictional tax requirements. - Setting of a currency exchange rate for your invoice. You can use the XE.com rate, an organisation defined rate, or add a rate directly to the invoice. - Recording of overpayments against invoices so that credit can be applied to future invoices. - Improved capability to send invoices Xero to Xero via e-invoicing - Retaining of a contact when copying an invoice. 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐩: - Viewing of stock notifications for tracked inventory - Copying to the other side of the ledger from within the invoice, i.e. creation of a bill and purchase order - More customisation tools for invoice templates, with live preview when editing - Acceptance of partial payments, such as deposits Xero has been working on delivering global aspirations with innovation topping the list. Recently, I came across a piece that highlighted Alex von Schirmeister, Xero’s UK MD’s words about the platform looking at supporting smart and medium-sized businesses allowing accountants to step up their game while offering additional benefits to the clients. With 3.95 million subscribers, Xero has been evolving over time. I have noticed users sharing rave reviews about Xero appreciating its simple layout, 1000s of integrations, guided setup assistance, and quick response time. As Xero is working on upping its game further, I’d like to know if you use Xero and how has your experience been so far. At Xero we were keenly interested to hear how the Government's budget could support Aotearoa New Zealand’s small businesses – the backbone of our economy. The details revealed today, however, show no specific funding for general small business policy or technology initiatives. The Budget 2024 offers a fiscally responsible approach but lacks measures to boost the much-needed productivity growth for our small businesses and economy. Over the past decade, productivity growth has averaged only 0.2% - a pace that’s simply not fast enough. Digitalisation and cloud-based business tools are key to improving productivity. A 20% increase in cloud tool adoption could raise GDP by up to $7.8 billion, highlighting the importance of digital transformation. While Budget 2024 doesn’t support this yet, we remain hopeful for future policies that will promote digitalisation and strengthen the SME sector’s digital capabilities. #Budget2024 #SmallBusiness #Productivity #DigitalTransformation #NZEconomy #SME #FutureGrowth
