About

As the Pacific Zone’s Senior Cyber Security Governance officer, Asaf Ahmad’s mission is to protect and manage cybersecurity risks to Schneider Electric, its customers, and other stakeholders.

Asaf is responsible for enabling the business to minimise those risks and ensure it is continuously maturing its capability across the organisation. He is also responsible for challenging, reviewing and enhancing the cybersecurity posture (process, people, technology). In doing so, he works closely with every part of the organisation to enhance collaboration and partnerships across Schneider Electric’s stakeholder ecosystem to keep raising the cyber resilience bar of the industry at large.

Prior to Schneider Electric, Asaf has worked in both the private sector and government sector to implement information security management systems. This includes his role as Chief Information Security Officer at Fire & Rescue NSW as well as his experience in the oil and gas industry, where he was involved with system engineering, digital and advanced control in refineries.

Asaf has also served as president of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) board of directors, among other positions, and has contributed to cyber security professional leadership and certifications to address the emerging cyber security needs of the industry for building a cyber-safe ecosystem.

Asaf brings with him over 35 years of experience, a Master of Technology in Management and Systems, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, and CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001, and CDPSE, FGIA certifications. Although Asaf is Indian by birth, he, his wife, and two sons call Australia home.
