PEOPLE | WMK's celebrations keep rolling as today we mark another incredible milestone for 'Lexi' Alexandra Glaverina who celebrates 10 years us! From the day she joined us from Canada, Lexi has been nothing short of extraordinary. As a leader of major rollout projects, particularly for NAB, Music Viva, Urbis, Caltex/Ampol, UBS, & Catholic Healthcare, Lexi's authentic and ambitious spirit has driven success and innovation every step of the way. Beyond her project work, Lexi has taken ownership of WMK's wellness and charity focus group, running our yearly Steptember initiative with passion and dedication. Thanks to her efforts, we've raised thousands for those living with cerebral palsy, and kept our WMK team fit! Here's to Lexi—an inspiring leader, a dedicated team player, and a true example of the WMK spirit. We are so grateful for your ten years of commitment and look forward to many more!

PROJECTS | Building the Future of Learning – St Peters Lutheran College Expansion WMK has partnered with St Peters Lutheran College for the Stage 3B Junior High extension at their Springfield Campus. This project builds upon the original design by McLellan Bush Architects, addressing the growing educational demands in Springfield and the evolving needs of the school's curriculum. The new design introduces flexible learning spaces, including an outdoor area perfectly suited for the subtropical climate, and a stone-clad amphitheatre within the Learning Commons—a new central hub for formal and informal gatherings. The contemporary material palette complements the existing structures while giving Stage 3B a distinct presence on campus. Our design honours St Peters' Lutheran heritage, with the main feature façade symbolising the school's Christian focus. The result is a vibrant learning environment where young minds can thrive, connected seamlessly with the original building to create a multi-functional, purpose-driven educational space. PROJECTS | WMK reimagines 9 Castlereagh St lobby In collaboration with Harry Seidler & Associates and Melhem Design Studio, WMK has orchestrated a visionary transformation of the lobby of 9 Castlereagh St for Charter Hall with the building set to become one of Sydney’s premier office destinations. Serving as a nexus of connection for tenants and visitors, the design will elevate the modern workplace experience as it embraces its open air atmosphere, offering abundant natural light, lush greenery, a new café, bar and an expansive dining area. The café and bar experience will be delivered by The Grounds, known for creating one of Sydney’s most beloved and social media’s most famous cafés. WMK’s design integrates indoor and outdoor dining, which will be defined by its illuminated curved architectural detail that extends through the lobby. Complementing the existing granite stone, and the original mosaic mural by Lin Utzon, the new rich colours and soft furnishings of The Grounds fitout adds warmth and vibrancy. Construction by McCormack is underway and expected to be completed end 2024. PM: Gallagher Jeffs Services: Evolved Engineering

Today marks a new era for people who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind or have low vision, with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese joining our clients, students, staff and supporters to officially open our centre for innovation at Macquarie University. Housing allied health, disability & cochlear implant services, a school and preschool, and a major research and professional education program, this is a nationally significant piece of social infrastructure that will remove barriers for people who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind or have low vision. Importantly, it will also be a gateway to new partnerships between service providers, researchers, government, industry, and technology to share knowledge and advance the field. Thank you to those who have been with us every step of the way, and helped make our bold vision a reality. We’re excited to work together with you to write our next chapter. #Deaf #HardOfHearing #Blind #LowVision #Innovation #Technology #NewEraofNext

PROJECTS | 115 Batman St, East Melbourne WMK Melbourne studio has transformed 115 Batman Street for Insignia Financial blending the building's rich history and industrial aesthetic with modern design. The revamp includes the ground floor lobby, meeting rooms, main stairwell, and upper floor lobbies, maintaining the building's mechanical roots and industrial charm. They also designed three spec suites, each with a unique identity. Embracing the building's architectural lines and original features, WMK utilised a palette of timber, concrete greys, black powder coat, and red brick. The design is thoughtfully intertwined with greenery to add a touch of vitality and connection to nature. Highly desirable third space offerings, such as bookable meeting rooms, a communal coffee point, and a lounge, provide a nexus for tenants in the new speculative suites. The design seamlessly fuses timeless engineering elegance with contemporary elements, creating a robust and refined space.
