Heading home after a busy week in the Middle East with my colleague, Lorena Serrano O. We had some fantastic meetings over five days, not least with our established Wilkhahn dealers, a2z, Humanspace, and our global partner, Teknion, as well as meeting a few new faces. 2024 marks a new chapter for Wilkhahn in the region and we would love to hear from distributors who might want to work with us.

50 Shades of Black? 🎨✨ Did you know that our perception of color can vary greatly depending on where we are in the world? 🗺️ Different lighting conditions can make even the finest nuances appear in a whole new light - literally. 💡 Cenk Kivrikoglu, Creative Director at our partner Gabriel, knows this phenomenon all too well. His finely tuned color variations sometimes pose unexpected challenges for his Danish colleagues: where he sees subtle differences, they often see hardly any distinction. 🤷♂️ A fascinating example is the innovative fabric “Future Loop.” 💫 At first glance, it might seem like just another black fabric, but upon closer inspection, it reveals a captivating variety. A black base tone contrasts with vibrant colors on the reverse side, redefining what we think of as black. During the “Future is Now” workshop at our headquarters, we had the chance to see this firsthand. Thanks to the warm summer light, it was easy to admire the extraordinary color worlds that Cenk skillfully crafted from the fabric samples he brought. 🎨 Participants from design, product management, project planning, marketing, and procurement were equally impressed. But it wasn’t just about colors: the combination of different surface textures opened up entirely new dimensions and sparked lively discussions among us all. Cenk also shared insights from his work with Generation Z, who are rediscovering fabrics and colors familiar to older generations from the 60s and 70s - this time infused with bold new color impulses that breathe fresh life into the old. ✨ By the end of the workshop, everyone left with new ideas, lots of photos for inspiration, and a big smile on their faces. 😊 We’re already looking forward to the next inspiring encounter! #interiordesign #interiorarchitecture #design #wilkhahn
