We’ve completed 30 rallies across Australia for the second time this year. The journey has been exhausting, yet incredibly rewarding, thanks to the overwhelming nationwide support for our calls and rallies. As a direct result of our efforts, the NT government has committed $180 million to address domestic, family, and sexual violence (DFSV). I extend my deepest gratitude to the organisations, charities, and individuals who participated, shared our message, and supported our cause. Collective action is essential for real change, and unity in times of hardship is crucial. I am particularly proud that, as an Aboriginal woman, I can say these rallies were mob led. We need more representation in roundtables, panels, and workshops, ensuring the majority are First Nations women. I urge if you are holding any panels, workshops or events you include us at all stages. Thank you all for your continued support and dedication. Together, we can make a difference❤️🩹❤️🩹 Some of the amazing women involved in organising, speaking or sharing: Martina Ferrara Julie Saylor-Briggs Rachel Dunn Freya Meredith-Hanson Indyana Sheaff Aroha Kaa Marea Ruddy Lucy Gregory Stacey Telford Stacey Micallef Sarah Rosenberg Rosemary Kudnarto Wanganeen Hala A. This weekend thousands have gathered (once again) to call on governments to act in what can only be described as a national emergency. 54 women have been murdered this year as a result of men’s violence. Speakers reflected on the importance of intersectionality (a core value of reframED) and the need for urgent legislative changes. They reminded crowds that we must consider ALL women in this call for justice. That means trans women, Aboriginal women, queer women, women with disability - anybody who identifies as a woman! The only way to win this fight, is to do it together 🤍 Ashlee Donohue reminded us about the inequality of our legal responses to violence against women. The rise in coward punch attacks saw suburbs shut down. When was the last time we heard about somebody dying from a coward punch? How many people would still be with us if this issue was treated the same? In the crowds I saw children as young as 3 marching alongside parents. I felt angry and sad on their behalf that this is their future. They shouldn’t have to march for the same issue their parents and grandparents have been fighting for. To the team at What Were You Wearing? - Australia thank you for your dedication and advocacy ❤️ there is strength in numbers, and what a turnout there was over the weekend! 🫶🏼 I’m always in awe of this sector!

No More Violence Rally in Ballarat yesterday. We will keep showing up until women’s lives are prioritised, frontline services are resourced. Ballarat’s family violence incidents are currently 41% above the state average. The 54 women murdered this year deserve our commitment to change the systems that should serve us and keep us safe. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! @whatwereyouwearing Privileged to speak alongside the fierce and powerful Sonia Naomi Smith, Kylie Johanson DV collective, Libby Jewson WRISC, Jackie from Ballarat Foundation

Advocacy and campaigns specialist committed to revolutionising systems to achieve gender equality. Views are my own.

Today I attended the #NoMore national rallies with my husband James Tsaousidis and our friend Marc-Daniel Sidarous. The rate of violence against women in this country is sky-rocketing. It is not being treated as the national emergency which it is. When a man is coward-punched we saw an entire political response which has changed our cities forever. When 54 women and 9 children have been murdered - murders overwhelmingly committed by men trusted and loved by women and children - the response is inadequate. Government shifts the burden on to society and we as women are left in the too hard basket. James and I spoke on Channel 10 news about how we do not want to see young girls protesting in Australia over the murders of their mothers by their fathers, that we want men to be educated and raised early on about how to treat the women in their lives. I would say the first point of call in all of this is to fund What Were You Wearing? - Australia and to give recognition to the invaluable work of Sarah Williams and other volunteers supporting the organisation. If the government does not support WWYW Australia, who has lead this grassroots movement, then what does that say about the government's commitment to the voices of women? I want women and girls to know what safety and love looks like in this country, and I want them to have access to all the best supports if safety and love is not what they are receiving. I also want to see men have dedicated resources for men's groups and therapy, and for male role models of positive masculinity to rise. Will you join me in this movement? Let's chat about how we keep momentum rolling from these rallies. I don't want to wake up tomorrow to another woman and child murdered by their partner and father. It makes me sick. #nomore #enoughisenough #rallies #protest #womensrights #genderequality #feminism #matriarchy #wwyw

This weekend, thousands of Australians gathered nationwide, chanting "54 NO MORE!"—a poignant reminder of the 54 women who have tragically lost their lives to violence this year, and it's only July. The rallies called for: 1. Mandatory trauma-informed training for first responders. (Sign the petition here: https://lnkd.in/g8A6NN2i) 2. Increased funding for grassroots organisations in the domestic, family, and sexual violence sector, including men's behaviour change programs and women's refuges. I had the honour of volunteering, along with Rachael B. and a handful of others to bring the Gold Coast community together for this cause, thanks to What Were You Wearing? - Australia and Sarah Williams. A huge thank you to all the incredible speakers who joined us at the GC Rally —Lucy Gregory, Shaan Ross-Smith, Aunty Linda Biumaiwai, Aroha Kaa, Edward Carroll, Priya Virdee-Hero, Rita Anwari, and Claire Carlin—who shared their powerful stories and inspired us all to keep fighting against violence. These rallies show that when we come together, we can make a difference. Let's keep raising our voices and work towards a future where everyone feels safe. #NoMore #EndViolence #CommunityAction #GoldCoast
