Giant Steps Australia is an incredible Australian charity that’s been transforming the lives of children and adults with autism through specialised education and support for years. They’ve recently secured a new property in Elanora Heights which will enable them to expand their support to more children. Unfortunately, as a charity, they’re facing steep funding hurdles and have not been able to secure the necessary funds in time for settlement.   After exploring all other options, they turned to Wentworth Capital who have helped set up The Giant Steps Social Note Trust to help fund the Elanora Heights property. Through this Fund, investors like you can participate in a first mortgage loan with a targeted 5% cash return—similar to a term deposit, but with a greater purpose. This is a loan, not a donation; with all funds returned upon repayment. For those looking to deepen their support, we’ve also structured the Fund to allow investors to forgo interest, creating a tax-deductible impact.   Wentworth is all-in. We’ve committed $400,000 and are covering all fund and transaction costs pro bono, with support from our advisors Gilbert Tobin, PwC and Automic Group. This investment isn’t just about returns—it’s about creating a legacy of change. With a minimum of $5,000 you can make a significant difference helping Giant Steps continue their vital work for those who need it most. This is what Giant Steps Australia means to our community: https://lnkd.in/gXdkuhbW Please reach out to us to learn more and get involved in our investor day! #Wentworthcp #GiantSteps

Head of Private Capital at Wentworth Capital | Real Estate Private Equity

Last week in Singapore at #SuperReturn, I shared my insights and Wentworth’s strategic perspective on increasing Asian capital flows into Australian real estate private equity strategies. We discussed how unique deal access and bespoke turnaround strategies drive alpha for investors. While our conversation covered all real estate sectors in our pipeline, there was significant interest in Wentworth's entry into the Australian life sciences sector. We see the life sciences sector as nascent but rapidly growing in Australia. Leveraging insights from mature markets like the UK, Europe, and the USA, we're collaborating with key stakeholders - universities, governments, and investment partners, to meet the increasing demand for purpose-built real estate. The supply-demand imbalance for lab and office space near key innovation clusters, presents strong opportunities for both high income growth and capital value creation. Our recent investments are a great example of Wentworth as a preferred partner, and how we’re well positioned to continue to unlock value in this sector. #wentworthcp #SRAsia

A successful day yesterday at the annual PropConnex Australia and New Zealand Finals!   Wentworth Capital has been a proud supporter of PropConnex from its inception - a Sydney based not for profit that facilitates the collaboration of university students looking to kick start their real estate investment careers through an exciting annual case study competition.   This year’s competition brought together 10 universities from Australia and New Zealand, with thousands of students battling it out for a coveted spot in the finals. With the top two teams winning a spot in the global competition – the PropConnex Cornell final in New York City later this year.   Wentworth Capital had the honour of coaching Vesta Capital from UNSW and what a privilege to get to know the team. Congratulations to Krishna Kangatharan, Zack Bolland, Adeel Tejani, Emily Ji, Matilda Rice and Vedant Virmani representing UNSW, and earning second place in the competition!   It’s been a joy mentoring and supporting the next wave of talent in the real estate industry. A huge thank you to everyone involved in making the PropConnex journey a success and in particular the Wentworth team members - Alastair Nash Hannah Loxton Deep Vaze, Alexia Photios, Oliver Thompson Shannon Bird and Clare Coleman

Asset & Development Management at Wentworth Capital

In 2023, we commissioned a large-scale artwork by First Nations artist, Tiarna Herczeg as part of the repositioning of Urban Logistics Co.'s Rockdale estate – an asset within our Last Mile Logistics Fund I. The collaboration forms part of our wider Artist Series, a strategy that partners with Australian creatives to transform industrial buildings into dynamic and creative environments, fostering meaningful relationships with our community.   The South Sydney estate sits on land of the Gadigal/Bidjigal people of the Eora Nation. The work spans an impressive 200 square metres, and represents a fusion of Herczeg's two artistic styles - organic, gestural brush strokes with vibrant colours and raw compositions, a creative expression that highlights the richness of Country. A key priority across our investment portfolio is our commitment to fostering diversity, and providing public amenity by enhancing community space and supporting local talent. The artwork was recently featured in Issue No. 14 of The Local Project. #NAIDOCweek  #wentworthcp

At Wentworth, staying informed of macroeconomic trends and their implications is critical to forming our House Views. After four decades of declining rates, we witnessed thirteen months of consecutive rate rises to November 2023. Since, the cash rate has remained flat at 4.35%, with markets currently uncertain as to the central bank's next move. This shift led to a fundamental repricing of all financial assets, real estate included, and a dislocated market. For those with speed and flexibility to execute, this has been an opportune time to invest. As this thematic continues to play out, we are seeing compelling investment propositions and a growing real estate pipeline. These insights and more have dropped in our recent House Views report.
