The ARIA - Australian Recording Industry Association have announced the return of the ARIA Awards for Best Use of Australian Music in Advertising for a second year. The announcement was made during a ceremony this week where ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd presented the inaugural winner of the ARIA Award for Best Use of an Australian Recording in an Advertisement (over 2 minutes): INNOCEAN Australia and Australian Marine Conservation Society, for their Voice of the Sea campaign featuring music by John Williamson. Congratulations again to all involved in this wonderful campaign!

Last night Australian music icon John Williamson added another win to his environmental activist legacy with ‘The Voice of the Sea’ that he wrote and composed for INNOCEAN Australia receiving an ARIA Award in the brand-new category Best Use Of An Australian Recording In An Advertisement (over 2 minutes duration). Warner Music Australia would like to congratulate SXSW Sydney on a successful debut in Australia. We held showcases featuring Australian, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Korean WMG artists over two nights as a part of the official launch of our new media platform Blare. Blusher, BOY SODA, Carla Wehbe, Dear Jane, Gareth.T, Oliver Cronin, PANIA, RIIKI REID, slchld and Stevan all took the stage for WMA. Both nights saw the room reach capacity a number of times throughout the evening, with a line down the street to get in. We’d also like to thank our venue Kyiv Social and partner Tripadvisor for their support in bringing Warner Music presents Blare Live to life.
