Last Tuesday Night, MechSoc hosted our annual Industrial Training Night. The event was a success with attendees coming away from the event feeling confident in their knowledge of Industrial Training requirements and excited to initiate their search for training opportunities. We extend our gratitude to the student presenters whose advice was valued and gladly received by all. Some key takeaways from the event include: - Seize every opportunity available and utilise industry connections. - Get involved in activities beyond academia to develop interpersonal skills which are valued by employers. - Quality of applications should be prioritised over volume of applications. - Enjoy the learning process as you will develop so many valuable skills. We heard about student’s experiences at Aurecon, Ansto, Dream world, Omni Tanker, Fast Automation and LEAP Australia. Presenters shared their thoughts and experiences which inspired attendees to apply at companies that interest them. Many UNSW students are offered full time employment after their internships which is a testament to the hard work of students. A warm thank you to our Industry Executive Sonia Wustemann for moderating this event, as well as our speakers Summer Workman, Julio Martins, James Pinnington, Aiden Casey and Indiana Brown. #industrytraining #unswengineering #workready
