Last week was Zookeeper Week, this is Shark Week, and between August 5-9 is Pacific Islands Standards Week. Now, we can't tell you too much about zookeepers or sharks (both awesome!), but David Wilkie can talk up a storm when it comes to standard contracts. An industry veteran, David was chair of the NZS:3910 Revision Committee, giving him unique insight into the intricacies of construction contracts. During Pacific Islands Standards Week, David is heading to Wellington to reveal the benefits of contract standardisation. These include: 🦈 Fairness: industry-acceptable balance of risk 🦈 Insurability: the insurance market is familiar with and has insurance available for standard contracts 🦈 Wide acceptance: familiarity and industry use 🦈 Cost efficiency: known risk allocation and legal interpretation 🦈 Knowledge base: Established community of practice and body of knowledge Pacific Island Standards Week empowers representatives from across the Pacific with the tools and knowledge to build high-quality infrastructure, including their standards and conformance systems, processes, expertise and future capability. David and other experts will directly contribute to this goal by promoting clear and efficient contracting practices, paving the way for a more prosperous and resilient Pacific. Stay tuned for David’s insights! #TSARiley #TSARileyAotearoa #PacificIslandsStandardsWeek #StandardContracts #IndustryExpertise #NZSRevisionCommittee #TransformativeImpact #SideBySide #ImpactMadeReal #SharkWeek

Last week's discussions at the IAQ (Infrastructure Association of Queensland Inc) Social Infrastructure Taskforce explored the future of infrastructure in Queensland. Attendees, including TSA Riley’s Amanda Douglas, engaged in conversations on place-based approaches, the National Urban Policy, and digital twins, among other key topics. It was our pleasure to host this insightful event at our Brisbane office and contribute to the ongoing dialogue to strengthen communities and improve social infrastructure in the Sunshine State. #TSARiley #IAQTaskforce #IAQ #QueenslandGrowth #PlaceBasedPlanning #UrbanPolicy #SocialInfrastructure #InfrastructureLeadership #SustainableDevelopment #TransformativeImpact #SideBySide
The discussions at the IAQ Social Infrastructure Taskforce (SIT) this morning drove the agenda for the remainder of 2024 for this group. Both in person and online constituents discussed how place based approaches to infrastructure across Queensland can reinforce communities and generations. This group will be reviewing the findings of the National Urban Policy, the outcomes of the Crossroads project, Digital Twins in action, MMC and how these fold into the cross sectoral framework of Social Infrastructure. Thanks to all who are part of this thriving group. #strongertogether #communityoutcomes #betterforqueensland

Keen to play? Following his successful stint hosting The Infrastructure Collective's trivia night in Wellington, we convinced project manager Trent Kleinsman to host a round on LinkedIn. Sponsored by TSA Riley, the TIC event was a night of friendly but fierce competition as participants went head-to-head, testing their knowledge of infrastructure projects across Aotearoa and beyond. Part of Infrastructure New Zealand, TIC provides crucial support, development, and representation for young industry professionals. As the TIC Wellington Chair, Trent is deeply involved in organising local events, providing industry newcomers a platform to exchange insights and expand their networks. Or, as Trent puts it, "stoking the fire for the next generation of professionals in the great little capital of Wellington!" So, how many did you get right? #TSARiley #TSARileyAotearoa #TICWellington #TheInfrastructureCollective #IndustryNetworking #NextGenLeaders #TransformativeImpact #SideBySide #BuildingTheFuture

Shout-out to Shaun Palm and our Brisbane Social Committee for organising yesterday's fantastic 'Australia's Biggest Morning Tea' at our Brisbane office. It was the team's 4th annual bake-off, and their culinary skills were up to the challenge. A huge thanks to: 🍰 Our 12 talented bakers who went all out in the kitchen to create a smorgasbord of treats! 🍰 Our diligent tasters, who took their mouth-watering role seriously! While it was all a bit of friendly (and delicious!) fun for our people, the event had an important cause at its heart—raising funds for the Cancer Council Australia. If you'd like to contribute to a cancer-free future, there are plenty of ways to get involved: https://lnkd.in/gn_767ft Pictured: Nina Sachi Hauge, Kate Townsend, Louise Duffy, Emily Windle, Andy Clune, Claire Vial, Sonia Pupavac, Jess Dillon, Marie Gales, Jason Zafiriadis, Sagar Mukherjee, Michael Marshall and Shaun Palm #TSARiley #TSARileyQLD #CancerCouncil #BiggestMorningTea #CancerFreeFuture #BakeOff #TransformativeImpact #SideBySide #ImpactMadeReal

Flying domestic from Auckland? Departing travellers now have more space to relax, unwind with a book or catch up on those pre-flight emails. TSA Riley’s Simon Northey (PM & ER) and Michael Ward (ETC) are providing project management services for the ongoing Domestic Terminal Refresh Programme. As well as recently upgraded bathrooms, the programme will deliver increased amenities and enhanced accessibility throughout the terminal. #TSARiley #TSARileyAotorea #TransformativeImpact #ImpactMadeReal
We’ve been giving our almost 60-year-old domestic terminal a glow-up as work on the new integrated domestic jet terminal is underway. Alongside upgraded bathrooms, an ongoing refresh of dining options, and new wayfinding arriving soon, we’ve just opened some more space airside to relax ahead of flights. Across two levels alongside Hudsons, is more seating, water refill stations, charging points, and workstations. It’s also fully accessible, with elevator access between floors and accessible bathrooms on the mezzanine floor. You can now enjoy more areas to relax, work, or read at the domestic terminal before departing Tāmaki Makaurau.

At TSA Riley, we take a practical approach to preparing our people for diverse leadership roles. Each year, a select group embarks on a transformative journey through our Emerge leadership development programme. Participants benefit from mentorship with TSA Riley's executive team, expert facilitation by Linton Chalmers, and hands-on experience solving business challenges. Now in its third successful year, our 2024 cohort is already paired with their buddies and executive mentors, diving into real-world business challenges and conducting intensive research to propose innovative solutions. Emerge's impact is evident: previous solutions developed through the programme have been successfully adopted by TSA Riley, benefiting both participants and our business. We can't wait to find out what this year's cohort will devise! Best of luck to Sam Prebble, John McDowell, Danalja Rautenbach, Clea Kentwell, Sam Neil, Valentina Arif, Vincent Y., John Seccull, James Grosser MRICS MAIQS, Jess Dillon, James Atkinson, Alex Lisney, Rose Iversen, Lyndsey McGachie, Nathan Ross and Joel Chapman. #TSARiley #EmergeProgramme #LearningAndDevelopment #FutureLeaders #ProfessionalGrowth #CareerDevelopment #EmpoweringPeople #ImpactMadeReal #SideBySide #TransformativeImpact
