This morning, Transdev proud operator of Sydney Ferries hosted a special smoking ceremony to mark #NAIDOCWeek. We were honored to have Uncle Harry and his team perform culturally-significant dances, enriching our understanding of the First Nations' culture and history on whose sacred lands and waterways we operate. 🌿 As outlined in our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan 2024-26 (https://bit.ly/3VXoWdv), events like this are vitally important in deepening our connection with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Our COO and RAP Chair, Peter Lensink, and Transport for NSW Coordinator-General, Howard Collins, OBE were also along to provide addresses and demonstrate their support. A heartfelt thanks to our partners Asuria Australia, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD), Vicky Golding, and Indeed. We're proud be on this journey with you all. 🤝 CC: Brian Brennan, GAICD; Gary Iddon; Dimity Smith; Nicole Norris; Menchie C., Anthony Cook

  • Transdev is proud to release our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) for 2024—26, charting a clear course for the cultivation of meaningful connections with the First Nations Peoples of Australia on whose sacred lands and waters Transdev operates. "This week offers an opportunity for us all to celebrate, acknowledge and respect the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples," said Chief Operating Officer and Chair of the RAP Committee Peter Lensink. "Our workforce knows our reconciliation journey will drive a more mature organisation and I'm looking forward to seeing our RAP come to fruition over the next three years, building on the great work already afoot at Transdev." The Innovate RAP outlines Transdev Australia's approach to creating more meaningful employment pathways for First Nations people, growing stronger connections with community and partners and increasing the cultural competency of all Journey Makers. • It was a pleasure to welcome Group Chief of Human Resources, Caroline Gonin to the Waverley depot of our Transdev John Holland Buses NSW business earlier this week. A key advantage of working for a global multi-modal operator like Transdev is the experience we can draw upon from our global peers. Caroline's visit was a great chance to share and further develop local strategies for the attraction, retention and growth of the fantastic current and future Journey Makers. Thanks to Caroline herself for taking the time during her Australian visit as well as all of our people who made her feel welcome, providing a great demonstration of how our teams down under show care year-round.

  • Transdev is proud to announce that we have been named the new operator of Victoria's Yarra Trams alongside our partner John Holland. Yarra Journey Makers, as the joint venture is known, merges the leading multi-modal expertise of Transdev with the building, infrastructure and end-to-end rail and transport knowledge of John Holland. We're honoured to be taking on the immense responsibility of operating the world's largest light rail network for an initial term of nine years, beginning in December 2024. “Our partnership will support the Victorian Government's vision of more integrated, sustainable transport for Victoria and the delivery of Melbourne’s Tram Plan," said Brian Brennan, GAICD. “Our focus is performance and customer experience – unlocking smarter ways to move more people, day and night, with the real-time information they need, when they need it.” A detailed plan is in place for the December changeover which prioritises a seamless transition for customers and the existing workforce. • The sun was shining on Thursday for Transdev Wellington's Mānawatia a Matariki celebrations! 🌞 Matariki, the celebration of the Māori New Year, was marked with a wonderful hāngi (traditional Māori style of cooking) for all staff to enjoy. This year's theme, Matariki Heri Kai - The Feast of Matariki, perfectly captured the spirit of the event. We took the time to acknowledge the three major principles that guide Matariki: 🔸 Remembrance: Honouring those who have died since the last rising of Matariki. 🔸 Celebrating the present: Gathering together with family and friends. 🔸 Looking to the future: Looking forward to the promise of a new year. Every day we feel proud to honour and celebrate the rich cultural heritage within our team. It was great to see everyone come together, enjoy delicious food, and embrace the significance of Matariki.

Last week, we held our Annual Scheduling Conference which brought together our teams from modes across ANZ under the theme of “One Transdev. One Delivery Chain.” The three-day event was an incredible opportunity to hear the passion of our participants and industry peers for useable, safe public transport. Focus areas included: 🔹 Always centering the customer; 🔹 Broadening perspectives and sharing best practices; and 🔹 Reinforcing ongoing, cross-departmental collaboration. Supported by interactive workshops, keynote speakers and a panel discussion, the event was a resounding success. This meeting of minds involved schedulers, planners, customer experience, communications, zero emissions and operational personnel, representing our local and global organisation in a holistic way that our forward strategy – and our clients – will benefit from. We’d like to give thanks to our CEO Brian Brennan, GAICD, COO Peter Lensink, and esteemed panellists Anthony Boston (Transit Strategies), Kasun Wijayaratna (University of Technology Sydney), Luke Holdsworth (Transport for NSW), Renee Tyler (Transdev Australia & New Zealand) hosted by Joana Feiteira (Transdev Australia & New Zealand) and special guest Xiaoliang (Kara) Ling (GIRO), who shared invaluable insights and guidance, as well as everyone who came along to this fantastic event. We’re already looking forward to next year!

  • It was a pleasure to join a diverse cross-section of peers at Corrs Chambers Westgarth this afternoon for a post-budget address by the Treasurer of NSW, The Hon. Daniel Mookhey MLC, followed up by a robust Q&A ably chaired by Eamon Waterford. As a contracted operator of four transport modes in the region, it's encouraging to see a common thread among this broad spectrum of opinions: a commitment to continued investment in and improvement of the great state of NSW. Thanks to our hosts and partner Committee for Sydney for a fascinating Friday.
