EverNow: A Festival During Kambarang kicks off tomorrow in Perth/Boorloo, in a visually spectacular celebration of Aboriginal culture. The free, family-friendly festival, which drew over 100,000 people last year, will include a new addition from world-renowned French theatrical and pyrotechnics company, Groupe F, whose show From the Light Flow: Bena Koorliny will light up Burswood Park from 3–6 October with a dazzling display of light, fire and projections. Song Circle will return with music, dance and light at Burswood Park from 3-6 October, and Boorna Waanginy: The Trees Speak, will again bring the towering trees of Kings Park and Botanic Garden to life from 4–7 October. EverNow is a homegrown event delivered by Tourism WA and produced by Perth Festival. It forms a key part of Tourism WA’s strategy to deliver uniquely Western Australian events and entice out-of-state visitors to travel to WA. WA’s total visitor spend reached $18.3 billion in the Year End (YE) June 2024, an incredible $4.8 billion or 36% ahead of 2019, and $0.4 billion greater than the previous release.   Western Australia was again the top performing state in terms of total visitor spend versus 2019 with growth of 36%, ahead of the total Australia growth of 26%. The increased spend was driven by intrastate overnight visitors, ( $2.9 billion vs. 2019).   International spend in WA totalled $2.4 billion in YE June 2024, in line with 2019, while international visitor numbers have recovered to 82% of the 2019 volume.
