We're delighted to have extended our true blue campaign in two major markets - Australia and the United States of America. 🎈 Here at home in Australia, the focus is on conversion with a strong presence across social, YouTube, search, and Google Demand Gen—driving travellers to Queensland.com. We’ve partnered with Expedia Group and Qantas to boost demand through the summer and shoulder season. 🦘 As for the USA, where Bluey is the number one most watched show, we have six retail partners backing the campaign, running from October 2024 to January 2025. 📺 The campaign has so far generated excellent outcomes for Queensland tourism operators and there's not time like the present to get involved: https://lnkd.in/gNeWUiqy

Queensland tourism is mourning the loss of industry great Sir Frank Moore, who passed away this week, aged 94. A renowned tourism visionary, Sir Frank was instrumental in establishing the Queensland Tourist and Travel Corporation, now Tourism and Events Queensland. He led the organisation as Chair from 1978 – 1990. Sir Frank spearheaded the creation of international airports in Townsville and Cairns and was at the forefront of Queensland’s hosting of World Expo 88. He oversaw national industry bodies and the development of the Cooperative Research Centre for Sustainable Tourism. TEQ Chair Grant Hunt and TEQ CEO Patricia O’Callaghan said the Queensland tourism sector was indebted to Sir Frank. “Sir Frank was an amazing trailblazer and inspiration for Queensland tourism and through his passion and dedication, laid the foundations for the success the industry now enjoys. Sir Frank's fingerprints are all over so many of Queensland’s most successful tourism icons and this will be his legacy for generations to come. Today we honour Sir Frank’s incredible pioneering legacy and extend our heartfelt sympathies to his family and loved ones.” For his incredible achievements and services to tourism, Sir Frank was knighted in 1983, appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia, and was awarded the Centenary Medal. RIP Sir Frank, from a grateful industry.
