Diverting brand new clothes from landfill and giving these to people in need

About us

By working with Australian fashion brands and charities, Thread Together drives social and environmental change. We help those in need by managing fashion excess, distributing surplus clothes to people who are doing it tough - the highest ethical response to this potential waste. Did you know that millions of items of new clothes get dumped into landfill every year? We believe that manufacture to waste without a purpose in between makes no sense. Not when there are so many people that need help. Drive social and environmental change at your next staff volunteering day. More than just a feel-good experience for corporates, our days are designed to increase team productivity, boost cooperation and attract and retain quality staff whilst making a positive impact on the community and environment. Your support will ensure our service continues to respond to need.

In response to the ongoing impacts of natural disasters, last week Thread Together returned to the Central West region with our mobile wardrobes to continue supporting impacted communities. Partnering with local charities, we provided brand-new clothing to the communities of Eugowra, Parkes, and Forbes, still recovering two years after the devastating floods. We served 248 individuals, offering much-needed support and comfort. Ann from Anglicare in Parkes shared, "Today brought hope.. People are overwhelmed by the generosity of these companies supporting rural communities." #CommunitySupport #DisasterRelief #ThreadTogether

We are focusing on growth in specific areas, with Geelong being one of our focus areas. This morning, with the invaluable support of the Geelong Community Foundation, we hosted a breakfast to introduce over 40 local charities to our mission. Thank you to our existing charity partner, Kane Nuttall from The Power In You Project for sharing the impact of our work with the audience. It was inspiring to connect with so many dedicated registered charities, and we look forward to working together to support those experiencing clothing insecurity in the Geelong area. As the chill of winter sets in, Thread Together's mobile wardrobes head out into the community to ensure that no one is left without the essentials they need to stay warm. Our mobile wardrobes are deployed across local neighbourhoods, shelters, and community centers, providing warmth and dignity to individuals and families facing challenges this winter. We extend our deepest gratitude to our fashion partners for their generous donations, which have been instrumental in supporting this initiative and making a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve.

🌟 Yesterday, Thread Together was proud to showcase at the Seamless launch! 🌟 Seamless is Australia's clothing stewardship scheme, aiming to transform how clothing is made, used, reused, and recycled. By 2030, Seamless aims to create a circular clothing industry, fostering a sustainable future for fashion in Australia. At the event, we heard inspiring words from Tanya Plibersek, Minister for Environment and Water, Rosanna Iacono, Chair of Seamless, and Ainsley Simpson CEO of Seamless. Danielle Kent interviewed our CEO Anthony Chesler who passionately shared how Thread Together contributes to circularity alongside other changemakers in this space. We are thrilled to be a supporter of this innovative industry initiative, driving change towards a more sustainable world. #ThreadTogether #Seamless #ClothingCircularity #SustainableFashion Storepro
