Today, we are proud to celebrate a momentous occasion: Thiess' 90th anniversary. On 16 April 1934, Thiess Bros, a small farming and roadworks company, began operating in rural Australia. Ninety years later, we have grown across seven countries and three continents, with more than 15,000 employees – to be at the forefront of sustainable mining and infrastructure services. Since our humble beginnings, our pioneering spirit has been the driving force behind our success. It's not just about the number of years but the ambition to do more, be better, and reach further. To pioneer a brighter tomorrow.   Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gQnjDfax   #Thiess #ThiessPeople #Thiess90 #MakeYourMark #Discover #Accountable #Respectful #Empowered

In September, we proudly marked two years of successful operations at Iron Bridge. This achievement highlights our continued diversification across Western Australia and our growing expertise in delivering excellence across multiple commodities. From the project's inception, we have maintained an outstanding safety record with zero Total Recordable Injuries (TRI), a testament to our unwavering commitment to safety and operational excellence. We have consistently achieved material movement targets with fleet reliability now reaching levels that confidently support our planned ramp-up in mine production. As we look ahead to the next phase of growth, with a planned ramp-up over the coming two quarters, we are proactively positioning our workforce and resources to ensure continued success and delivery of operational goals for our client, Fortescue. It is an exciting time for Iron Bridge!

This week, members of the Thiess Contracts Team had the privilege of attending the Indigenous Business Month celebration, facilitated by the Queensland Government Department of employment of Employment, Small Business and Training, in collaboration with the Department of Treaty, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, Communities and the Arts, Communities and the Arts. The event brought together over 50 First Nations businesses, alongside numerous industry and government buyers to celebrate the rich innovation and diversity of Indigenous enterprises in Southeast Queensland. The event opened with a heartfelt Welcome to Country, setting a tone of respect and acknowledgment for Indigenous heritage. During the session, attendees heard from the John Holland Group about their experiences building meaningful partnerships with First Nations businesses, providing practical examples and insights. The event also facilitated valuable connections through business-to-business networking opportunities, forging relationships that support mutual growth and collaboration. The Thiess Contracts Team found the Indigenous Business Month celebration to be an enriching experience that highlighted the importance of supporting Indigenous entrepreneurship. We're looking forward to integrating the insights gained from this event into our future initiatives and continuing to explore partnerships and opportunities that support Indigenous businesses.

#MINExpo2024 is wrapped! I'm incredibly proud to have showcased the Thiess brand on the global stage at the mining industry's biggest international event. It was a successful week, filled with many valuable client meetings, new opportunities, and the opportunity to put the Thiess brand in front of nearly 100,000 attendees ( digital channel audiences) in one of our key markets. Our interactive booth drew big crowds and featured VR and 360-degree immersive theatre virtual tours of open-pit and underground projects. We showcased our Asset Services and Reclamation offerings, amongst others. We also had the opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders like Caterpillar Inc., iVolve Industrial Technology on the Komatsu Mining Booth, Wenco International Mining Systems on the Hitachi Energy booth, and Liebherr Mining with our SME's presenting Masterclasses on their main stage. We made key announcements with EACON Mining and FLANDERS and collaborated with Awesome Earthmovers. One of the many highlights was the live podcast with our Executive Chair and CEO, Michael Wright, and Aaron Witt, which will soon be live on Aaron's podcast 'Dirt Talk'. A big shout-out to Darren Toyne, whose months of planning ensured this event's success, and to Timothy Fitzgerald for the exceptional brand campaign you created that set us up for success. It was a true team effort; thank you to Lucy, Katherine, Corky, Vivian, Joc, Matthew L., Ryan, Vanessa, Nick, Mary, Jared and many more who played a big part during the last few months! #MINExpo2024 #Thiess #Mining

Bibhrajit Halder and Cynthia Brosque had a great meeting with Thiess CEO, Michael Wright, and their outstanding management team last week at MINExpo INTERNATIONAL 2024. The event was incredible, and the discussions with Thiess around our autonomous solutions for safer, more efficient operations were very productive. Exciting opportunities ahead as we continue to explore and collaborate to drive the future of mining. Thiess was proud to team up with the International RiverFoundation, Council of Mayors (SEQ) , and Lockyer Valley Regional Council to celebrate #WorldRiverDay! This day celebrates the importance of our waterways, raising awareness of their value and encouraging better stewardship to protect them for future generations. It was inspiring to see so many of our team members come together to plant native seedlings, helping to restore the beautiful Lockyer Creek, which flows into the Brisbane River. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this important sustainability initiative.

Last month, members of the Thiess Contracts Team attended the Supply Nation annual flagship event, 'Connect' at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Held across two days, the event brought together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, corporate organisations, and government departments to foster opportunities and celebrate the success and calibre of the Indigenous business sector. Day one featured an insightful knowledge forum, where discussions spanned topics including remote and regional opportunities, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and women entrepreneurs. On day two, 210 Indigenous businesses showcased a tradeshow with a range of new categories presented for the very first time. The Thiess Contracts Team gained valuable insights from the event and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We look forward to continuing our work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses and contributing toward the growth of supplier diversity in Australia.

Earlier this month, Thiess proudly took part in Coaltrans Asia 2024, the largest coal trading event in Nusa Dua, Bali. With around 2,000 participants from across Asia, the event presented a fantastic opportunity to explore business opportunities and share insights into the future of our industry. We look forward to continuing our participation in future events!
