New Zealand | This year we have grown in members, group deals, media partners and now across the Tasman, with our affiliation with Independent Media Agencies New Zealand (IMANZ). Under this arrangement, the IMANZ will be able to tap into our initiatives and policies and use us to assist in the set-up, commercialisation, brand usage and governance of the IMANZ. IMANZ members will also be able to leverage our education initiatives, with plans also underway to explore regional group deals. Sydney | Despite the rain, wind, and some of the most challenging golfing conditions, the IMAA Charity Golf Day, sponsored by SmoothFM, proceeded with great success. While it was a great day on the green, it was the post event which really made the day special, with our partners and members generously raising over $20K for the Harrison Riedel Foundation. This years chosen charity is dedicated to combating the heartbreaking statistic that suicide is the leading cause of death among young Australians. It is very disappointing that the Australian Federal Government has rejected our proposal for an independent agency consortium to manage its master media account. Our proposal, developed in collaboration with an Australian-owned third-party management consultancy, aimed for our members to share the responsibility of servicing the $163 million account. It would have provided the Government with the best of both indie and holdco thinking, offering a fresh, modern approach aligned with the updated procurement standards. Dare we say, the streets of Sydney felt a little safer last night, with over 60 of the media industry's finest, including our independents Sam Buchanan, Jessica Bray, Justin Ladmore, Trent McMillan, and Ori Gold, spending the night in prison, all in the name of charity. Raising money for the UnLtd. Adland Bailout, our team of 'cons', raised over $12,000 for programs aimed at breaking the cycle of youth incarceration. From interrogation to fingerprinting, dining on prison food, and sleeping on prison floors, our team of 'cons' truly stepped out of their comfort zones.
