Habitat House 64 Kippax Street Surry Hills. 2018 Habitat House is designed to foster and support the best business teams, establishing itself as Surry Hills’ premier commercial address. This repurposed 1960s office building offers efficient 770sqm floors and is just 100 meters from Sydney’s Central Station. Its rooftop, an extension of the internal workspace, is a highlight, encouraging healthy collaboration and tenant interaction. This adaptive reuse project, led by April Group, transformed the building across eight commercial levels, two basements, and a rooftop garden, emphasizing lifestyle, amenity, wellbeing, and collaboration. The refurbishment included stripping existing fit-outs, extensive façade remediation, and installing a new high-performance window system. The upgraded basement carparks feature bike storage and mural art, while hotel-like end-of-trip facilities promote healthy living. The lobby’s design, new bathrooms, and lift cars blend modern and historic elements. The light-filled floors enable flexible workspace planning, enhanced by advanced lighting controls. The rooftop terrace, a crucial tenant attraction, supports work, socializing, and relaxation, with kitchen facilities and spaces for meetings, yoga, and events. This urban escape fosters tenant wellbeing and is expected to flourish as the plantings mature. Habitat House sets a new adaptive reuse standard, transforming tenant performance and culture, emphasizing community, design, and the user experience. BMG. 2018 Located on the top floor of a bustling art gallery, BMG is a state-of-the-art workplace and four-room recording studio like no other in the world. Designed to inspire and captivate the senses, The Gallery is the only recording studio on the planet to feature Coelux lighting—a groundbreaking Italian skylight system that bathes the entire studio in natural sunlight at any time of day or night. Unlike many studios that resemble monochromatic 'man caves,' every detail of The Gallery's design is meticulously crafted, offering a design palette that feels more like a luxurious European hotel suite than a recording studio in inner Sydney. The recording studio sounds as impressive as it looks, thanks to the expertise of acclaimed Sydney-based acoustic engineer Michael Fronzek from SoundSpaces. The Gallery is not just an achievement in audio engineering but also a marvel of structural engineering. To support the 55-ton structure in the building's penthouse, over 8 tons of structural steel were installed beneath the floor to create the mass necessary for an optimal acoustic environment. “The Gallery is BMG' masterpiece - a place for our artists to play, listen and record in an environment that has been built exclusively for them. Established in 1994, the gallery resides in the historic Australian Steam Navigation Building, showcasing Ken Done’s vibrant original works. Visitors can explore a unique collection of art, limited edition prints, books, clothing, accessories, and homewares in the beautifully curated gallery store. The upgraded gallery pace enhances the gallery's visual appeal, celebrating Ken Done's iconic contributions to Australian art and design. Bohemia, marries the art of strategy with the science of media, data and direct response. Its client roster includes Aspen Australia, Best & Less, Caltex, Elanco, News.com.au, Open Colleges, Pandora, Steadfast, UBank, Unicef and Unibet. Bohemia has a rebellious spirit and desire to be transformative and transparent.  There warehouse workspace space reflects this. GenesisCare: 2015 - 2022 GenesisCare, founded by Dan Collins in Brisbane in 2005, emerged as the largest provider of cancer care services in Australia, with treatment centers also in the United States, United Kingdom, and Spain. In July 2016, China Resources Group and Macquarie Capital acquired 56% of the company for A$1.7 billion. After an extensive search, GenesisCare selected the restored and reinvented Grounds in Alexandria for their new location. We meticulously defined their accommodation needs and created a workplace functionality brief. This process identified issues related to building selection and preliminary design, ensuring the design connected with both the complex building and its end-users. Transitioning to open-plan and collaborative spaces required engaging with the organization to challenge their work practices and identify their needs. Clarence Place – 2017 Our journey into adaptive reuse began with a compelling vision from Davi Briscoe at April Group, aiming to transform this worn asset into a high-quality offering and set a new standard for the western corridor of Clarence Street. The 'Office Apartments' concept blends a hint of Hamptons elegance with a dash of Parisian chic, creating a unique and inspiring workspace. Nestled in the heart of Sydney, these offices offer the convenience of the city paired with the premium services of a fully renovated heritage building. Bathed in natural light from windows on three sides, these spaces feature parquet floors, high ceilings, and brand-new luxury kitchen and shower facilities. It’s easy to forget you're in a professional setting with such opulent surroundings. Each floor spans approximately 315 square meters, offering a space that is not only luxurious and inviting but also equipped with the latest technical capabilities.
