| TRANSFORMATION OF A RETAIL ICON | Over the last two years, we’ve had the great pleasure of partnering with Michael Hill to develop their Global Flagship at Vicinity Centres’ Chadstone Shopping Centre, Melbourne. This was done in concert with the wider business transformation that consists of so many parameters including product, brand, marketing, technology, sales and service models, and more. No stone has been left unturned by Daniel Bracken, Jo Feeney, Amy Sznicer and the wider leadership team in genuinely bringing A NEW ERA to Michael Hill and its customers. Taking the lead on redesigning the customer experience and retail proposition for Chadstone (and beyond) was a genuine honour for our team. From behavioural research, to working in stores across the country ourselves, to spending time workshopping “GREATNESS” with Michael Hill leadership teams from across the globe, a lot of care was put into understanding this project from every possible perspective. From operations to uniforms to scent to product display to space, shapes, materials and colours, it was a wonderful creative journey that challenged us all and made the project outcome all the better for it. This retail specialist agency deals with strategy, brand identity, advertising, store design, and technology. When you think about retail advertising and marketing, what comes to mind? Loud, shouting, in-your-face advertising with massive price discount offers? This is the clique many are stuck with. However, retail marketing is about building a destination brand, either online or in the real world, and optimising the customer experience from beginning to end, with the results of your work known almost immediately. Matt believes more marketers are realising that the same disciplines that build solid and successful retail brands are the ones that can build all brands in the face of a rapidly changing business environment.
