From the construction site to behind the keyboard expressing her creativity, project manager Catherine Loppy is a woman of many talents. At TasWater, she manages critical projects that make positive impacts on communities. But Catherine’s passion doesn’t stop there. She’s also an avid writer, blogger, and dedicated mentor, always finding time to support the younger generation and encourage women to thrive in the construction industry. It’s no surprise Catherine’s drive and passion earned her the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Crystal Vision Award earlier this year, recognising her efforts to promote and support women in construction. Water quality has never been more front of mind than during the Paris Olympic Games, as the world watched the forced delay of events because of fears around the safety of athletes swimming in the Seine. It's a reminder that even iconic waterways face challenges, similar to those in Tasmania and inspired Matt Balfe’s article in the papers over the last few days. The famous French river experienced the same issue we see sometimes in Tasmania. Keeping sewage out of our waterways across the state is a job we take seriously and for which we are investing in now for future generations.
