You may have seen these if you’ve travelled on the metro in Sydney’s north west, but come August, passengers through the centre of Sydney will get to experience the benefits of platform screen doors.     Platform screen doors at all Sydney Metro stations keep people and objects like prams away from the tracks, creating a physical barrier at the edge of the platform to keep passengers safe.     They also improve travel efficiency by allowing trains to get in and out of the station much faster.      Here’s some handy tips to remember come August:  ◾ Spread along the platform and use all doors  ◾ Wait for both sets of doors to open  ◾ Chimes and flashing lights means doors are closing  ◾ Stand clear of closing doors  ◾ Metro doors close quickly, so don’t rush to get on (don’t worry if you miss a train, another one will arrive shortly after 😉)
