  • Structural Monitoring Systems today provided the following update to the ASX regarding Boeing Technical Design Review's confirmation of the successful completion of all outstanding Aft Pressure Bulkhead tests. SMS Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ross Love commented: “As Chairman and CEO, I am pleased to provide a further update on our July 16 announcement regarding the progress towards Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification for our smart sensor solution for Aft Pressure Bulkhead inspections. “This further update follows the advice we received from Boeing on August 2 that their Technical Design Review (TDR) meeting has closed off all outstanding technical design issues arising form their initial review in February this year. “The next step is the final compilation by the engineers and review by the E-UM of the compliance summary report, which is the entirety of all of the compliance package, including all data accumulated and substantiation claims. This is likely to take at least six weeks, as expected.” SMS Group Chief Technical Officer Trevor Lynch-Staunton P.Eng commented: “This means that the critical technical concerns for the program have been resolved and we are compiling the documents now for application to the FAA. “However, there are still several steps remaining in the process - both within Boeing and then within the FAA - as we have previously advised. “However, we have no reason to believe that these additional steps won't be completed successfully, but at the same time we cannot guarantee that they will, nor when they will,” he said. SMS Chairman and CEO Ross Love further commented: "This is a very detailed technical review process and achieving today’s milestone confirms the confidence we have been expressing in both the process and the outcome, even though we might have wished for it to have been achieved earlier. "It significantly increases the confidence with which we can continue our engagement with important potential customers -along with our currently contracted customer Delta Air Lines - for our Aft Pressure Bulkhead application and our confidence to pursue new applications, many of which we are already progressing. “I look forward to providing further updates as the remaining milestones are met, as well as on the implications for our current budget and forecasts as we complete that assessment in the coming weeks. “I would like to reiterate my thanks to our own technical team, as well as those at Boeing and Delta Air Lines, for their calm and professional persistence in achieving today's result, as well as to our loyal, and patient, shareholders who have funded this long and continuing journey to CVMTM commercialisation." • Structural Monitoring systems Plc (“SMS” or “the Company”) (ASX:SMN) today provided the following update to the ASX regarding progress of the Aft Pressure Bulkhead certification process ahead of the release of the June 2024 Quarterly Report. SMS Chairman Ross Love commented: I would like to take the opportunity ahead of the release of our forthcoming quarterly report to provide you with some further information on the progress of the certification of our CVMTM Smart Sensors for the Aft Pressure Bulkhead inspection – Boeing Service Bulletin 737-53-1418. We announced on 6 June 2024 that Boeing was undergoing evaluations of the final tests, which were completed in May, with the expectation that the evaluation process would be completed by the end of June, for consideration by the Structures Technical Design Review which was initially scheduled for July 24. We are now advised that this meeting will take place on August 1, due to the availability of review members during the holiday season. While this further delay is frustrating, we have no choice but to accept it – and the fact that we have no information on the likely outcome beyond knowing that the tests appear to have been successful. We are encouraged by what we have been told about the outcome of the final tests, and by the continuing progress towards other key milestones. The current milestones and associated timeline as provided to us by Boeing is as follows: Updated CVMTM anticipated timeline May 2024 – Circulation of draft copy of proposed new service bulletin to the four largest US carriers (South West, United, Delta, American) COMPLETED June 2024 -  Completion of Low-Stress Coord Sheet Test Requirements CONFIRMED July 17 2024 –Cert Plan resubmitted to FAA (& send to EASA) Aug 1 2024 - o Boeing Structures Technical Design Review Meeting Aug 15 2024 – FAA acceptance of Cert Plan (may get impacted by delayed submission -was Jul 31) Aug 30 2024 –Cert Plan Deliverables completed (was Jul 31) Sep 3 2024 –CVM deliverables to routed to Boeing ODA for approval / recommend approval (was Aug 1) TBD – Submit CVM deliverables to FAA (Service Bulletins & Compliance Report) (was Sep 30) TBD – FAA Approval of Deliverables (was Dec 2) TBD – SB Release with AMOC (was Dec 20) Please head to https://lnkd.in/gCni874s to read the announcement in full.

  • The SMS and AEM (Anodyne Electronics Manufacturing Corp.) teams have been working collaboratively over the past few months to refresh the digital presence of Structural Monitoring Systems plc (SMS). In short, we have developed a new corporate web domain and a redesigned investor relations website that we feel more accurately represents the company and its business segments in 2024 and beyond. We believe the new site better aligns our brand and visual identity refines the SMS corporate narrative more accurately and shows a clearer link between our SMS corporate entity, our wholly owned subsidiary AEM, and our three (3) separate business segments: AEM Avionics, AEM Contract Manufacturing and AEM Comparative Vacuum Monitoring (CVM™). The main objective of the new domain and updated website is to more accurately position the SMS corporate entity and its digital property as an investor relations channel which will provide more accurate and up to date information as it is released to the market. Moving away from the .au domain also ensures we can grow and scale into the future and further demonstrates that we are in fact a global company that has evolved beyond its Australian roots.
