AWARD WINNING OUTCOME FROM COMPLEX BEGINNINGS It took over 2 years to navigate the planning pathway and develop the documentation for the Wearne Cottesloe Redevelopment. To achieve this it involves much more than simply compliance with local council guidelines. It also required detailed staging analysis, infrastructure upgrades, local community consultation, models of care, understanding operational requirements, geotechnical analysis, durable coastal materiality, demographic studies, and all while balancing beautiful architecture suited to its place. Working in association with Grounds Kent Architects from Master Planning, DA Approval to Tender Documentation, it's incredibly rewarding to see it take out the top gong at the 2024 Urban Development Institute of Australia (WA) Awards for Excellence 🏆🏆 The project received the award for the best ‘Seniors Living’ project as well as the prestigious ‘Russel Perry Award for Urban Development Excellence’, recognising the best development in WA. This is a rare honour for a seniors living project, and highlights the exceptional collaboration of the project team to deliver a world-class outcome that elevates quality of life for its residents and the surrounding community. What an accomplishment by everyone involved in this iconic project. 🌿 Transforming Spaces with Nature at Bethanie Dalyellup 🌿 Who doesn't love a bit of greenery! Here's our green thumb approach to one of SPH's recent projects Bethanie Dalyellup, where we incorporated a stunning moss feature wall from MossWall Australia in the lobby. The natural beauty and calming effect of the moss truly enhanced the space, creating a welcoming environment that blends nature with modern design. We would like to share that the Child and Adolescent Forensic Service (CAFS) project, which SPH has been involved in, is now open for tender on the Tenders WA website. As part of the State Forensic Mental Health Service, CAFS will provide specialised mental health services for children and adolescents up to 18 years old who are at risk or have a history of serious offending. Our contribution to this project has focused on designing office accommodation that is accessible, functional, and secure, supporting the crucial work that CAFS will undertake. This project exemplifies SPH’s commitment to enhancing community health services through thoughtful and innovative design solutions.
